Renewals & Scheduling:
SyFy has renewed Total Blackout for a second season, which will begin Tuesday, November 13th.

TNT has renewed Falling Skies for a third season.

Disney renewed Good Luck Charlie for a fourth season.

MTV has renewed Teen Wolf for a third season.

Larry King Now is available on Hulu already.

Oxygen has I'm Having Their Baby premiering tomorrow, Monday, July 23rd, at 11pm ET/PT. This docuseries will look at adoption stories.

Logo's new Absolutely Fabulous special will premiere in the US on Wednesday, July 25th at 10pm ET/PT.

MTV's WakeBrothers will debut with back-to-back episodes on Wednesday, July 25th at 11pm ET/PT.

Oprah's Lifeclass returns with new episodes at 10pm ET/PT on Sunday, July 29th and Sunday, August 5th on OWN.

A&E's Shipping Wars returns for a second season on Tuesday, August 7th at 9pm ET/PT.

TLC's United Bates of America, following the mega-family from Tennessee, premieres Monday, August 13th at 9pm ET/PT. If you've already been following the Bateses, you may be interested to learn that Zach and Sarah have ended their courtship. [TheTalkingBox will be giving this cable series a try.]

TLC also has Big Tiny premiering that night, Monday, August 13th, at 10pm ET/PT. This show is about the world's smallest siblings, who are in their twenties and live in Illinois.

Also coming Monday, August 13th are Hoarders and Intervention on A&E, beginning at 9pm and 10pm ET/PT, respectively.

History's Top Gear will begin its third season on Tuesday, August 14th at 9pm.

Lifetime has Prom Queens joining their lineup beginning Tuesday, August 14th at 10pm ET/PT.

ABC has Time Machine Chefs coming Thursday, August 16th at 9pm. No electricity or running water for these chefs!

OWN has Lovetown, USA premiering at 10pm ET/PT on Sunday, August 19th. It takes place in Kingsland, Georgia, with two acclaimed matchmakers.

The Real Ghostbusters joins FEARnet on August 18th.

BBC America's Copper comes Sunday, August 19th at 10pm ET/PT. This original series follows an Irish immigrant cop in the Five Points neighborhood of New York, set just after the Civil War.

Switched at Birth is back on ABCFamily starting Monday, September 3rd at 8pm ET/PT.

The third season of HBO's Boardwalk Empire begins Sunday, September 16th at 9pm ET/PT.

The third season of HBO's Treme begins Sunday, September 23rd at 10pm ET/PT.

The latest incarnation of the cartoon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles begins Saturday, September 29th at 11am on Nickelodeon.

Style is now carrying Sister, Sister in reruns.

News Roundup: Early 2012 Scheduling

This is our first news round-up of the year, so it covers nearly three weeks of entertainment fun facts. Ergo, the full post was very long. So, we split it up into three posts to cover three areas, hoping it'll be more digestible for readers. Next week we plan to return to our normal, one-news-post-per-week schedule.

Renewals:
Flashpoint has been renewed for a fifth season.

Giuliana and Bill has been renewed for a fifth season.

USA renewed Psych for a seventh season.

TVLand renewed Hot in Cleveland for a fourth season.

The Glee Project was renewed by Oxygen for a second season.


Last Man Standing will now have 24 episodes this season instead of 22.

Cancellations:
You'll also start seeing Last Man Standing more often, since ABC canceled Work It after just two episodes.

So You Think You Can Dance has had its results show canceled.

China has canceled 88 television shows since October.

The Martha Stewart Show has been cancelled, partly due to high production costs. After April, only repeats will be running.

Other Scheduling Updates:
Fairly Legal and In Plain Sight will move to Friday on March 16th.

Life's Too Short, a faux documentary starring Warwick Davis as a fictionalized version of himself, will debut on February 19th on HBO. Look for it on Sundays. HBO's Luck debuts on Sunday, January 29th. HBO's Game of Thrones returns Sunday, April 1st, at 9pm for its second season.

Disney XD is going to launch "Marvel Universe" on Sunday, April 1st. It's a programming block that will feature the new animated series Ultimate Spider-Man.

Mad Men will return for a fifth season on March 25th, starting with a two-hour opener. The Killing returning on Sunday, April 1st.

Swamp People's third season will premiere on Thursday, February 9th.

Cougar Town is back February 14th.

Degrassi is back on Monday, February 20th on TeenNick.

Some ABC premiere dates: Don't Trust the B--- in Apartment 23 will premiere on Wednesday, April 11th. The River will premiere on Tuesday, February 7th. Scandal will premiere Thursday, April 5th. 

Sunday, April 8th is a big day for Showtime - Nurse Jackie, The Big C, and The Borgias are all back that night!

Being Human comes to BBC America on Saturday, February 25th at 9pm ET/PT. Absolutely Fabulous comes to the network on Sunday, February 12th at 11pm ET/PT.


Netflix's original series, Lilyhammer, will have its entire first season available to watch in the US and Canada, starting February 6th.

Can't wait to see Smash when it officially debuts on February 6th? You don't have to - some American Airlines flights will have it in-flight through January 30th, it'll stream on NBC.com and Hulu from January 23rd thru February 6th, and it'll be available thru February 6th on iTunes, Amazon Video on Demand, Xbox, Zune, Playstation, Vudu, and Samsung MediaHub.
New Comedy Central series Key & Peele (with eight episodes to start) begins Tuesday, January 31st at 10:30pm. The duo is most known for their improvisation and celebrity impressions. [Comedy Central Press Release]

News Roundup: Breaking Bad, Roseanne's Nuts, Bones, etc.

Renewals, Cancellations, & Scheduling:
Breaking Bad has come back from the dead, with 13 episodes to air on FOX.

Good Luck Charlie was renewed by the Disney Channel for a third season.

White Collar was renewed for a fourth season.

Roseanne's Nuts is being moved to Fridays at 10pm for the remaining three episodes. Repeats of Dance Moms will take the old Wednesday slot.

FOX has passed on Locke & Key. I guess it's a good thing that I skipped out on seeing the pilot at Comic-Con (it was on my original plan), otherwise I might be among the many who are upset at the moment. 

Cast & Plot Updates:
Ben Savage (of Boy Meets World fame) will guest on Bones.

Did you realize that the new season of House will pick up a YEAR after last season's finale left off? House is in jail, alongside Jaleel White.

OtherFun Stuff:
Want a good laugh? Go read some predictions as to what the Rugrats characters are doing now that they're 20.

Speaking of old NickToons, Hey Arnold! and Rocko's Modern Life have been added to the late night 90s programming block on TeenNick. Look for them starting September 6th.

Did you hear about how Paul Rudd hitchhiked to the airport? He wanted to offer his savior something big, which ended up being a walk-on role during an interview.

Absolutely Fabulous will be doing three specials for its 20th anniversary.

TiVo isn't doing so well. In fact, they lost 33,000 subscribers last quarter, bringing their overall subscriber total to the numbers they had in 2004! I predict we'll see a similar drop next month when Netflix inflicts its price hike.
