9 Things About I Just Want You to Know

I know it's been a while since I wrote about the other two Gosselin books. And, in fact, it's been like four months since I read this book. But, since I've been doing that "drinking game" series, I haven't interrupted that to throw this in on a Wednesday. Today I don't have time to come up with a new game (yes, I'll admit that I think I've now posted all of the ones I already know, except Seinfeld, but I was saving that one for the finale of writing that series), so I'm finally posting this book review.

I had some difficulty in tracking down I Just Want You to Know, mainly because my library didn't get it immediately. I actually believe that I was the first person in my county to have it checked out (third tops, really, judging by the date of acquisition). I found it more interesting than the second book, but not as intriguing as the first. I chose nine points since the book focuses on the eight children and Kate, but not Jon. They're listed primarily chronologically, as I thought of them while reading the book, but there are a couple that interested me later, and others that are more overview-ish.

1. Kate was terrified of a nighttime fire in the house. She and Jon worked out plans multiple times about how they'd get the kids out in such an emergency. When the sextuplets were really little, the plan was to just throw them in the middle of a comforter and Jon would carry them out like they were in a sack!

2. At one point they lived in a neighborhood that had trash regulations. Since the littlest kids were still in diapers, they would regularly go way over this allotment and either keep the least smelly trash in the garage another week, wheel a can several streets over to a friend's house who never hit the allowance, or put it all out with some snacks, in hopes that the trashmen would accept the gift and take all of the refuse.

3. Kate claims they would go through 4 boxes of cereal or two dozen eggs PER BREAKFAST. Even if this claim was when the little kids were four years old, that would mean each ate two eggs per morning, which is a lot for a kid that young. And I'm pretty sure you can get 8 servings of cereal out of a box with ease... so that's 32 servings for 10 people... doesn't add up.

4. Mady knew how to use "thanks" in context when she was eleven months old. AND, she has a second middle name: Rene. Similarly, the baby that didn't make it was to be Emma Rose or Ella Rose... even though there is no definitive answer that it was a girl.

5. you know how Jon was always brushing the kids' teeth on the show? Apparently he didn't always do that, because when Mady was four, she had a tooth that was black and rotting before Kate noticed that there was a problem.

6. There are quite a few apologetic remarks throughout the book about how Kate was sorry for the things she said to Jon and the way she blew up at Jon frequently. She also does a pretty good job of convincing the reader to take her side, using ploys to talk about how stressed she was and tugging on single mothers' heartstrings. However, there is also some finger-pointing, and parts of the book are clear that she's not happy with Jon's "instability," among other things.

7. There are a few stories that are being retold from Kate's first two books. I'm not sure what her angle was in doing that, but perhaps it was simply because those particular anecdotes are indeed very important to her.

8. In addition to needing more space, the family needed to move again because they needed more privacy, and their old house wouldn't allow it because of neighborhood building codes.

9. The letters to the boys mention that Kate is sorry she can't act as a "father" to them... does she not think that girls need fathering, too?

oh, and as an added bonus? Book 4 is on its way: Love is in the Mix, a cookbook. Not sure how I'll review that one. But, there's not even a release date for it yet, so who knows when this will actually be a concern.

Favorite Episodes: Jon and Kate Plus Eight

Okay, so if you read my Friday posts, you know that I haven't seen the very final episode of Jon & Kate Plus Eight ("It's a Crazy Life, But it's Our Life"). But, I've been trying to catch it for MONTHS now, to no avail. And they never put it on DVD. So, I'm just going to go ahead and assume that it wouldn't have been my favorite episode in the final season (technically cheating, I know). But, since the new show (I'm tempted to call it a spin-off, although it seems there's a lot of controversy over whether it's a new show at all since there was one cast change and the title of the show changed), Kate Plus Eight just premiered (read about my thoughts on the first two episodes this coming Friday), I wanted to go ahead and do my favorites for this show.

It's really hard to break down TLC shows into seasons, so I'm just going off of how they broke it down online. Honestly, I don't know how they got 5 seasons out of just 3.5 years, but whatever.

Season 1: Shopping For Ten (S01E06) Both grocery and Christmas shopping trips are covered in this episode. We get to see the first of many coupon-oriented shopping trips for Kate (and this seems to be a favorite feature for TLC, as they love to show various series taking trips to the market, LoL), and the now-infamous Toys R Us meltdown for Kate.

Season 2: Hit the Road (S02E11) The Gosselins drive to Florida to see the beach and DisneyWorld. They have a grand time, and it's fun to see how excited the kids all are.

5 Interesting Things about Eight Little Faces

In case you can't tell, I'm making my way through some books written by television stars. This week, when I picked up Eight Little Faces at the library, I was surprised at how short it is. Less than fifty pages, and full oh photos, the book is a short blurb, a piece of scripture, and some photos. Over and over. And, since it is so short, I'm only doing five thoughts instead of ten.

1. The verse in the Bible that the Duggars associate as the base for the quiverful movement is mentioned early in Kate's book. Psalm 127:3-5. Kate uses it to talk about the great responsibility that God has bestowed upon her when He made her the mother to six additional babies.

2. Kate worries each day when the kids are off to school. Apparently she has no trust in the teacher(s), bus driver, and school personnel.

3. There's a strange photo about halfway through the book that looks as if Kate allowed the children to play with shaving cream at the table. But Kate hates messes...

4. I need more Galatians 6:9 in my life. " Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." Kate mentions it because she often wants to surrender from her to-do list, but proceeds on because greater things will come.

5. Kate truly believes that the kids will be best friends now and forever. Um, what? Maybe the fact that they're all so close together in age will help that, but seriously? Who truly has siblings as their best friends at any point in life after age 5??

10 Interesting Things about Multiple Bles8ings

I read a lot when I travel. I love to read on flights, in the airport, on buses/trains. I like to read before bed in hotels (rather than watch tv before bed like I do at home). And, when I'm at my Florida house, we read before bed since we don't have a television in the bedroom (theoretically, we don't really own a tv, which makes this blog rather funny, but that's beside the point).

Anyway... I usually read magazines, and pack a single book. But, since I haven't flown in almost three months (which is rare for me, I feel like I normally fly at least every eight weeks or so), I had a stack of magazines and TWO books ready to go. I finished the first one today, and I rather enjoyed it. It was the first of Kate Gosselin's books, Multiple Bles8ings. It's the story of Jon and Kate, from the day they met through the sextuplets turning three. Remember, the show began when they were only two (and they'll be six in May), so the book is written by an already-in-the-media Kate (with Jon as well as Beth Carson). There were a lot of interesting things in the book, and several ideas that I will carry with me through the next ten years or so, as I hope to have young children of my own in that time period. But, here are ten things I liked/found interesting in the book (in no particular order):

10. Apparently, a pregnant woman's HCG level doubles every thirty hours for the first eight weeks of her pregnancy. So, if yours isn't high enough (25), test again in two days... you're bound to know then!

9. In Pennsylvania, child care center ratios are 3 children per adult. So low! No wonder Kate lobbies to have a nurse part-time for a full year, she deserved one!

8. "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." (Matthew 6:34) I learned this lesson when I was a senior in high school, and I look back on the epiphany often. The whole idea of taking one day at a time is remarkable.

7. Kate mentioned surprisingly little about her cooking habits. On the show, it's very clear that she's into organic and into healthy cooking and whatnot, but in the book it's not even mentioned if she makes the babies' food herself or not. Perhaps this will be covered in the next book.

6. We know that the family was on Medicaid, and that bills were high, but no numbers are given, nor was there much information on exactly how they managed everything while Jon was out of work (which was a substantially long time).

5. There's NOTHING in there about Kate returning to work after the babies are born. On the show it's clear that she was working as a nurse here and there (I think it was just Saturdays in the beginning?), but the babies are already three at the end of the book and no mention of it? It doesn't really fit, especially since it would work great in ending and how God provides, etc.

4. I was glad we got the full story on their possible adoption. It had been mentioned several times on the show and in other interviews that Kate did, but I had no idea that the baby in question was one of a patient of Kate's from the hospital, etc.

3. I was really rather shocked by the fact that Kate had volunteers coming and going without a set schedule. I would have figured that she would be the first one to organize something like that. Perhaps she was just so awed by the volunteers that it didn't occur to her?

2. Now, after all of the backlash about whether or not the kids should be on tv, how they were pulled, yada yada, it was interesting to read that Jon was against filming the kids in the very beginning... he even initially said "no" to the documentary that would later lead to the Jon and Kate Plus Eight show.

1. We heard about the order of the babies in crawling and walking... what I really wanted was a list of their first words. I was really curious to find out if most of them said the same thing, or if they were all different, and how close together they were, etc.

Monk: missed it.

Sunday:
The Simpsons (S21E05): "I do not have the hots for my mom"... what exactly happened to make Bart have to write this??!? Loved that modified The Italian Job sequence. A cookie sale to raise money for childhood obesity?? "pop goes the chupacabra" was my favorite line of the night. "I heard your pants ain't hiring cuz your butt won't quit" is ridiculous. The boat in Homer's mind was disturbing. The first three quarters of the episode were pretty good, old-school Simpsons fun. But the last bit was not, LoL.

Family Guy (S08S06): I've decided that the Griffin family spends entirely too much time in front of the television. Not sure why I never noticed this before. Funny play on foreign news with the British guy on the ham radio. LMAO on Quagmire knowing that Peter was talking to Ronald Reagan. Clone Stewie was strange... reminded me of the "bad dupe" from Multiplicity. Vibrating pacifier was creepy. The jaw and the eye were gross, and that's all I have to say about that. And Quagmire's final lines were enough to make me drop this show. But I don't think I will... yet.

Monday:
How I Met Your Mother:

House, M.D. (S06E08): not gonna lie, I am totally losing interest in this show. House popping up in Taub's office or Thirteen's gym was semi-amusing. Intriguing idea that you can't be a porn producer and get a liver transplant... not really that interested, so I have nothing more to say about this episode, LoL.

Little People, Big World (S05E11): um, dang. I couldn't believe the opening argument with Matt & Amy. :( the way Jacob and Zach play is SO rough sometimes... I mean, I know they're siblings and they're boys and all... but shooting someone in the FACE with a BB gun is uncalled for. Molly really has opened up a lot this season, she talks a lot more, both in the interviews and when the cameras are on around her. The twins didn't seem too happy that the dad was in Hawaii for their 19th birthday. More on discontinuity... it's Mother's Day in this episode, so it's May now... Kiteboarding!! man that's cool! too bad the wind wasn't there... that really would've been AWESOME to watch! TLC really seems to be into camping... this is seriously like the 4th show to feature an episode on it. If Buddy does a camping-themed cake next week, that'll be the last straw, LoL. I think it's really strange that Matt went to Hawaii after making a big stink a few weeks ago that Amy is the one who wants to do a lot of traveling and he wants to sit around the farm. Zach's little flashlight trickery to give Amy her Mother's Day gifts was really sweet & funny.

(S05E12) omg Molly said "pwn" outloud. This may be like the second time EVER I've heard it spoken. geez! Sign Language is a really difficult thing to help someone study for if you don't know anything about it... like there was no cheat sheet on Zach's study sheet. I remember jotting down descriptions of how the signs were done so I could study when I took Sign Language in undergrad. LoL on the math issue being the exponents of i. Matt: "how do you have time to go to the gym when your homework isn't done?" Jeremy: "six words. er, letters. S-E-N-I-O-R." Matt: "does someone make sure they do their homework?" a) bad attitude on Jeremy's part. b) what's with "someone" ? If Matt's not doing it, he should ask Amy directly, because those are the only two people who matter in this equation. I like how Amy continues to hit the college thing hard with the kids... her and Matt both know that the kids aren't doing that well, but she keeps bringing them to colleges, having them talk with admissions representatives, the whole shebang. I can totally relate to the Molly-gets-a-B+-and-mom-freaks-out moment. It happens. It's not the end of the world. And in Molly's case, it was only halfway through the term, so a B+ can easily become an A- if not an A. woopty-freaking-doo. Now, the fact that Zach apparently used to get really good grades and now isn't even academically eligible to play soccer could be a concerning factor that his younger sister could head down the same road. But Molly is very well aware of how Zach is troubled these days, and I really don't think there's any reason to panic. Wait, now it's six weeks later in the SAME episode? Geez, throw the timeline out the window on this show, LoL.

still missing "Downhill Dwarf" and "Game Over"

Jon and Kate Plus Eight (S05E21): LoL, Mady hated a lot of jumping jacks when she was three, but Cara loved it, LoL. um... Kate was looking awful large up top in the gymnasium. I'm really curious as to how long the paparazzi will follow the Gosselins around... I mean, when will they lose their appeal to the masses? It was funny that the kids asked if the mascot ever blinked, LMAO. I LOVE that Joel loved baseball. I really appreciate individual interests in multiples. I think it's funny that all those girls came up to Jon and wanted their photos with him. I thought it was nice that the episode was dedicated to Nana Janet... I had read about her passing a couple weeks ago.

(S05E22) Wow, they were going to go to Korea?!? Dang that's a big bill!! Kate mentions there were problems in February, and that they all kept quiet about where they might be going to keep the lurkers away. I'm actually surprised that I hadn't heard about the possibility of a Korea trip, since Jon did say it aloud in the AAA office. I wonder why "Jon didn't want the kids to go" to Korea...? The obstacle course was really cute. I was surprised that the kids couldn't really jump rope... I certainly distinctly remember being able to do it by the time I hit kindergarten. People seriously wait in line for 12 HOURS to see Kate for 20 seconds?? She's not Springsteen, people. Every once in a while Kate reminds me of one of my aunts, and this episode had a moment like that, LoL. WOW Kate was ballsy in making that announcement for the Ronald McDonald House that Jon was not taking part in making and serving the dinner. DANG.

Cake Boss (S02E06): I want to go to Carlo's so badly. I just have no other reason to drive all the way to Hoboken! LoL. It's only an hour and fifteen minutes, so maybe I can convince my husband to take me there for my birthday... we can get cupcakes or something. :) (actually, I can TELL you now he'd get a cannoli. guaranteed.) That talking Alfie was super neat. I often wonder how Buddy and the crew decide how big to make the cakes... sometimes the customer mentions how many people it needs to feed, but sometimes they don't... yet the cakes are similar in overall size most of the time. That doesn't really seem to work out to me. lmao with high school wrestling being all that similar to cage fighting, hahaha. I loved the tape they made! so cute. the legs of that dragon done in cereal treats was AMAZING. The guys training for the match was funny. I hate that the girls are such b!tches in this family... I can't believe they re-did the tape of the alphabet! Thank goodness that they didn't tape over the original!! I couldn't believe how realistic the final product of the dragon was!! But, speaking of which, that cake was GIGANTIC in the end... I mean, I understand that it's an imitation, but the size was just immense... did they really eat all of that??

Tuesday:
18 Kids and Counting (S03E23): I loved that Joy had her interview with wet hair, LoL. How "Duggar" hehe. I was impressed with how detailed her daily expectations were... I am curious as to who in the family puts that together and which kids have them (I imagine the older six or so don't have them since they kinda have the same expectations and routines day-to-day). Poor Joy climbing in flip flops! I was really surprised that she didn't go all the way up. I do love that JimBob really does a lot of the activities with the kids, LoL. Why was figuring out the message on Joy's cake so difficult for Jill and Amy, LoL? When they showed the list of players on the teams, it listed a "Jonathan" on the right-hand side... who is that?? One lovey shot of Josh and Anna... and then they showed up both in orange... but I appreciate not waking up the baby or anything to get her on camera again.

South Park (S13E14): LoL, "Pipi's Splashtown." Cartman's racism in this one bothered me. Usually I just take it with a grain of salt, but the "too many minorities" song was too much. "this is more math than I've ever seen you do" haha. hahahahhahahaha on the 83% pee is acceptable in waterparks. And all the math kept getting funnier. The water certainly began looking greener after a while! Definitely not the most sanitary episode... "it was almost all p, no H." Poor little Kyle... had to drink the pee... :( and the banana at the end was funny.

Friday:
Monk (S08E12): caught it live! not often for Friday nights, LoL. $900 grand??!? good grief. Mr. Monk is going camping to schmooze? love it. the whole thing wasn't that interesting... way too much drama and not enough crime stuff. I don't understand why he didn't get reinstated at the end... and was even more baffled by the fact that Monk didn't pay attention, LoL! I did like how he explained the "this is what happened" to the bear... and the bear got bored and walked away, LoL!!

Sunday:
The Simpsons: no new episode this week.

Family Guy (S08E04): funny reference to Cleveland moving, haha. the episode overall was really bad, except for a closing scene where Rita is telling Brian where to put the keys and he has no idea what piece of furniture she is referencing.

There was the almost-live special afterward, which opened with a great rendition of the opening theme song. I was really surprised at the lack of commercials in that segment. I actually wasn't that taken with the skits in it, either, LoL.

(S08E05) For some reason, they ran ANOTHER new episode. um, wtf, Hanna Montana was SO last year. would Chris really consider "practicing kissing" with Meg?? The parents are soooo disrespectful of the kids!!! Stewie got in to see Hanna and then even gets to sing with her? ::cough bullsh!t cough:: I'm glad that the monkey is gone. :)

Monday:
How I Met Your Mother (S05E07): when did it become acceptable to be so openly talking about porn at 8pm on CBS? EASTERN for crying out loud! I LOOOOOOVED that Barney knew Ted would watch a porno and that it would be the one about architecture, haha. And I particularly love that Barney made the message so long ago that he makes a Weekend at Bernie's reference and still believes he'll never be in a real relationship. The fat suit on Barney was kinda funny. LoL, Barney doesn't care about sex anymore?? Fat chance (pun intended)! Of course LazyRobin and LazyBarney would go for getting married, and the reasons were hilarious... "name's too hard to spell... most of the stuff's there already... The stormtrooper in the car was hilarious... as was renting a station wagon to save $25, LoL. I'm glad there was a shot of HottBarney at the end, even though Robin and Barney are no more. And I love how they're always setting up stuff that might come next week or it might not come for months... but the Canadian Variety Show will surely surface again!

Lincoln Heights (S04E09): I am so glad that I didn't have all the Cassie-Charles college drama. My then-boyfriend and I went our separate ways to further our educations in the best places for each of us. And neither of us have ever regretted it. If Cassie and Charles can't suck it up, then move on already. Their on-again, off-again relationship is more than just a little annoying. The PTSD with Nate Ray is an interesting addition to the show. Lizzie was kinda clever in calling the mean girl's bluff, but I think she's starting to ask for trouble all over again. Cassie needs to grow up. I can't believe Lizzie broke-and-entered to get Sylvia's contact information. And why the hell does Cassie keep talking to Sage about crap?? I had a feeling all along that it was the garden making people sick.

(S04E10) Glad we're getting closer to solving the money thing. I have a hard time seeing Charles in the army. Cassie asking Charles to marry her in this way is exactly like Topanga asking Cory all those years ago on Boy Meets World. Eddie trying to right all the wrongs of the world is also getting old. Um, how much more 80s can you get than Tay's shirt when he's playing that song?? The song itself was really quite nice, tho. Lizzie's singing and dancing in detention were out of order, regardless of how it may have reinstated the show. Cassie's "wedding skirt" was really trashy-looking. Her shoes weren't much better. I'm not gonna touch how Lizzie told the mom. Are there always tons of people dressed up to elope at City Hall? That's really weird-looking. But at the same time, both times I went to get my marriage license (hubby forgot his driver's license or something the first time) that area was busy. How did the entire family get together so quickly to get to city hall?? WTF how did so many people get to the house for the "practice ceremony" ???? OF COURSE Charles' dad can get him out of army enlistment. OF COURSE. Who didn't see that coming... besides me? I also didn't think they'd get half the money from Cyd... altho I surely hoped so!

House, M.D. (S06E07): I loved Jordan's hair in the opening scene. LMAO "it's been on your calendar for months" "so has Ramadan." House's new glasses are weird. I don't really understand how they're only 16 and were at that club/concert. I also don't like his new haircut. Cuddy's shirt was bit more low-cut than usual. Cameron was looking oooooold this episode. And Chase and Cameron not knowing what tweets were was awful. I love House's 80s from another century. Reminds me of a great 80s party I went to in grad school where a guy came dressed like he was in his 80s... complete with a cane. I loved the look of love in House's eyes when he and Cuddy were dancing. "expelled from my FIRST med school" hahahahaha. Wilson and the euthanizing was surprising. It's about time we saw Cuddy's baby again. Lucas, however, took me by complete surprise!! House reading Wilson's paper was intriguing... I guess. Jordan never actually doing anything was so pansy. House only goes to international conferences... interesting. Camerons with Chase at the end was weird... she was just odd.

Little People, Big World (S05E09): it was smart of Matt and Amy to have some good rules in place about his cell phone. Jake, as many teens, went waaaaay over on his text limit. Jacob's girlfriend was cute... but he's 12!! I think it's strange to invite her and her parents over that early, LoL. It's crazy that mom collects is every night and the kid STILL went over the text limit! Matt thinks Amy needs time management classes?? and he's angry that she doesn't text him when she's out at a social event?!? Jeremy was acting wise in realizing how big of a problem it was for Jacob to be using the phone in the manner he was. I was really shocked at how defiant he is becoming. He gets his phone taken away for a day, then a week. And he still managed to ring up 8,000 texts, causing a bill from AT&T for like $2700.

(S05E10) Zach didn't have a clue where a pot would be in his own kitchen? I don't really care about soccer, but it was nice to watch the kids be SO excited about the game.

Jon and Kate Plus Eight (S05E20): a "clips" episode, if you will. I liked how they gave Kate a chance to guess what would be picked in each category. "Everyone makes mistakes," done deal. and that's the case with a lot of these... like the blow-ups. LoL on "Daddies have wieners." And I loved that Kate used "I'm in agreeance" very late in the show... I'm guilty of slipping up and using that once in a grad school class, so I appreciate that I'm not the only one. :-p

Cake Boss (S02E05): Buddy does a military cake. 25 sheets? good grief. the woman who requested the dance cake kinda looked like a horse, lol. "and it's a recession!" holy mackerel that's a big plane! Daniella has issues with proportion... again. 4 feet by 8 feet is reallllllllly big. especially for a cake. In the end, it looked more like a parade float than a cake.

Tuesday:
18 Kids and Counting (S03E22): Jessa really seems to be great at the mandolin! Wow, all four of the older girls have been playing the harp for ten years!! I had no idea! Again with not answering directly if there's any potential suitors for the girls, but they did mention that JimBob definitely has a soft spot for his daughters... which makes a lot of old episodes make a little more sense... like when Jill and Jana went to him when they were preparing for their teeth surgery, etc. Jinger doesn't have the love for cooking that Jill and Jana seem to?!? JimBob called Jill a "supermom already" which I thought said a lot. I thought it was a strange three-minute addition to show Jill and Joy going off to babysit, but maybe they just want to show that the kids do get out of the house and do things independently. ...they just went to a farm, so why are they going to see birds at another farm now, LoL? unless they were actually pretty far apart and just aired close together... but I kinda think that since Josh and Anna have been absent lately that these were filmed close together. Table for 12 (S02E03): The kids are looking a lot older than last season, so there was probably a big gap in filming, LoL. The interviewing of the kids is new, and a nice addition. "I was previously a scout" haha. The oldest two are a riot! For being all out in the project alone, I was pretty happy with Kyle's safety precautions... I was nervous about him in sandals tho. I'm curious as to how dryer lint works as a firestarter, LoL. It is a little frustrating to hear that out of ten kids, only one was helping. Although in their defense, a couple did ask to help, but Dad wasn't ready yet. I was really impressed that he almost had the fire going with just the flint. I'm glad the scary story went over okay in the end... it was a bit intense for four-year-olds, LoL. Not to compare it too much to J&K, but it's nice to see the parents trust each other's judgment.

(S02E04) It was very nice for the kids to get to take part in lessons. Kyle's in his second year of musical theatre camp, Meghan is in her first. And to have random funny moments of the kids was adorable. It's about time we saw a little more of individual kids' issues, like Kyle and Meghan not getting along. Yay for all the kids having a good time with their summer activities. :)

Wednesday:

South Park (S13E13): morning announcements, yay! When I was in fifth grade, there were no auditions. They just gave it to the kid with AD(H)D the job so he was good at something, LoL. Cartman's commentary was interesting, but a little over-the-top by the second point. lmao on the hating of the Smurfs. The Casey Kasem impression was kinda funny. I'm a big fan of Cartman living amidst the Smurfs, that was pretty funny... right up until the brutal murders. :( "Dances with Smurfs" ... really?? how do the kids believe this mess?? Butters peeing on Wendy's front door and then running away with his pants around his ankles was ridonkulus. Cartman's greying around the temples was kinda amusing, but I couldn't figure out who he was supposed to be. "The Smurf Holocaust," um... no. And the way they turn it into Avatar was genius. The weird thing about the morning announcements in this case is that it wasn't clear whether they were televised or just audio... at various parts in the episode the kids were looking at different focal points.

How I Met Your Mother (S05E06): um, omg 83 beds?? yikes. "Barnstormer" and "RoRo" um, ew. And I was just shocked that the "bagpiping" neighbors were that old!!! The dishes/orgasm trade-off was so funny. I'm kinda weirded out by Barney's name these days... it's finally starting to be kinda.... big-purple-dinosaur. And it's overly spiteful that Lily would make Marshall's favorite dinner only for herself. :(

Lincoln Heights (S04E08): why would Cassie talk to Charles about going to New York? I don't see what sense that makes. Having a history paper due is enough to stop Lizzie from trying out for a play? Again we see Lizzie's strange style of dancing. What does rich Aunt Naomi do? I am so happy that Jett Jackson made an appearance... he's so adorable!! Charles has no problem with the younger kids drinking?? Those girls are only like juniors. I wonder what sort of horrible thing those other girls did to make Lizzie have to go to the principal's office?!? I hate Sage, she's SUCH a B!TCH! I also don't like Naomi's attitude. And D@MN these Sutton kids can't catch a break... poor Tay getting the crap beat out of him.

House, M.D.: no new ep this week.

Little People, Big World (S05E07): wait. it's Spring Break on this show? LoL. I really thought it was a big problem for Matt to go ahead and book a trip, knowing that Amy couldn't make it. I understand Zach not wanting to go, and that Jeremy thought it was an opportunity that shouldn't be wasted. After Molly and Zach decide not to partake in a "family vacation" without their mother, Jacob was really in a rough place. He wanted to go, and it was clear that Amy was pointing out all of the cool things that he'd get to do if he went. But, he was sad that Zach and Molly weren't going. I was kinda offended that Matt was trying to guilt Molly and Zach into going.

(S05E08) Jeremy seemed to have no compassion for Zach and Molly's decision. Not much to say about this episode, really, LoL.

Jon and Kate Plus Eight (Special): not really a "final episode" and not really the original name of the show, either. Instead, just Kate spoke about stuff. "Kate: Her Story" was the title. They talked about the families who "cashed in on them" like her brother, Kevin, and his wife, Jody. The girl that Jon has been dating was the daughter of the surgeon who did Kate's tummy tuck???? WTF. (although on the radio today, I heard that Jon and she have gone on a break)

Cake Boss (S02E04): The robot idea was neat, but I didn't like how Buddy complained about it and then asked the others who was the doubter, LoL. Anthony having to take Buddy on the delivery was crappy... that kid is annoying! The tie-dye fondant was pretty neat. I was actually in love with the Rollerskate cake, LoL. I liked watching Buddy on the skates, too.

(S02E03) The Billiards idea was neat. Buddy talking about his pool skills got old fast. You could see the worry on the painters' faces when Buddy's sister told them to paint the walls pink. Same problem as last week when she abused Buddy's assistant. I adored the pool table cake... so neat! And after the painters did the brown thing... it just looked like a warehouse. so boring. so, so boring.

Tuesday:
18 Kids and Counting (S03E21): stiiiiiill no "and one on the way." The pop-up box said that biblical times usually had 4-8 children, and Noah only had 3. Interesting. Who drives the yellow bug? It was interesting to see Joy pushing a stroller... usually we don't see her helping with the younger ones much. With Jennifer so afraid of bearded JimBob, why keep putting them together?? I liked the pairings of the kids in the interviews... it was good to hear from a bunch of the non-usual kids.

(S03E18) I was able to catch "Old McDuggar Had a Farm" from my list... This was a verrrry "let's praise John David" episode... and I'm not sure why. "is it important to spend one-on-one time with each kid" um, duh. Of course Michelle is going to say yes. What kind of prompt is that??

Wednesday:

South Park (S13E12): the kids "need a break" so they head out to the wilderness. They are quickly upset by a bunch of motorcyclists driving through. It quickly becomes apparent that the guys realllllly crave attention. I liked that comparison to sixteen-year-old girls, haha. After Cartman and Ike both call the gang "fags," they begin to become really concerned. There's some obvious homophobia going on when they talk about how the mere sound of their engines means they can't be gay. The parade of motorcycles with random noise-making accouterments was amusing. I love how the kids are always calling group meetings of the classroom kids, haha. lmao KFC chicken and gravy. The need to "motorboat" while riding got old fast. Of course as soon as the kids spray paint "fags get out" on the billboard, true homosexuals got upset. The point being made that "fag" has become too household of a word was a little vague, but decently put. Women, poor people, old people, "inconsiderate douche bags" ..... clearly definitions are ambiguous. haha, Emmanuel Lewis. LMAO on Butters' "bi-curious" self again.

Friday:
Monk (S08E10): Natalie and Sharona have vastly different voices... how could Monk get them confused?? And why would Monk check for a five-year-old dry cleaning ticket, LoL?? If Benji has a summer job, it must be summer. But it was the middle of the year when Natalie's daughter sang? $950/week versus $930/week... that's a funny differentiation. I really didn't like the super-speed explanation that Monk gave at first. Monk jumping in a cab with "how far will $52 take me?" was very peculiar. The chase scene (and resulting fight scene) was hilarious. Sharona is much more conniving than I recall.

Lincoln Heights (S04E07): It was only a matter of time before people came knocking at the Suttons' house, asking for some of the "found" money. After all the problems in the past, security at the high school is non-existent again?? Charles' brother got in with no problem at all. I thought that Charles did a good job of putting his father in his place by pointing out the uncle relationship. I was not a fan of Deacon, so I'm glad that Dorothy broke it off with him. I don't know how I feel about his with Grandpa Sutton, tho... nothing of interest in the second half of the episode. I like Tay's singing voice, but that's not new.

House, M.D.: off-week

Little People, Big World (S05E05): we saw the older three kids in school. Both of the twins aren't doing that hot, with less than 3.0 GPAs. Mom and twins toured Portland State University and Corbin. The kids were kinda clueless about majors, LoL. Matt wasn't much better tho... he didn't know Pepperdine and Wharton were tough to get into, and that UCLA only took in "600" students a year (that's ridiculous when you even remotely fathom the size of the school). The cooking speech was an interesting assignment. Zach really isn't a good speaker though... he has lots of problems in the small segment they showed. (I wonder when he had his braces off?) Zach KNEW he had a "messed up philosophy of school" but wasn't doing anything about it? Interesting note, Jeremy's hair isn't the same color throughout the episode, so I'm not sure how wide of a span this covered.

(S05E06) I loooove the new furniture, I guess they finally got that going after the forever-long renovation. Who says "good luck" and sends a person off to clean out the basement?!? Both parents going grocery shopping separately was pretty hilarious! I actually don't know what my stance is on the discipline and household management issues that this episode brought up.

Jon and Kate Plus Eight (S05E19): the dogs are back at the breeder's. It was really cute watching how the kids cleaned the dog pee. "at that time I knew that I meant it" regarding the vow renewal... that was a YEAR ago... how do these things unravel so fast?? "if I have to, I will" in regards to nursing... it's a "backup career" for Kate. How is Kate only sleeping 4-5 hours when her kids are so much more mature and less needy now?? I think one of the clips (from the show where the dresser knob was broken) blanked out Kate saying "shit" !!! I really want to find it and check now! How Kate's shoe choices have changed is amusing. Now she doesn't feel dressed unless she has heels on?? I'm glad that between the show and her book, the kids now have enough to go to college. I thought the "come hell or high water" was used a bit frequently, and I never would have guessed that Kate wanted to do animated voices, haha.

Cake Boss (S02E01): I'm glad this came back. I adore this show. Of all the shows that I really keep up with, this one has very little drama involved. Why in the world would Mary eat lilies if there's a possibility that they're poisonous?!? I love Mama, she's a trip. I loved how she ripped Buddy a new one for making a mess trying to get Anthony back. The missing engagement ring was really funny too, lmao. I thought that the Venus Fly Trap was kinda boring... or cheesy... something.

(S02E02) Holy hell. Buddy just flips over like a 3' x 2' x 2" slab of pound cake. geez, that looks so much harder than tossing a pizza, lol! Note to self: "royal icing" dries. buttercream does not. The tiny error in putting "CANDY" on the Candy cake was cute and unnoticeable to most people. My jaw DROPPED when Anthony got into the accident. Buddy got there before the cops? Did they not even call the cops?? The candy cake was crazy sugary. I couldn't believe the damage when Buddy hit a pothole or whatever! 70 pounds of cake to feed 150 people?? My wedding cake fed 200 and I really doubt it was that heavy. But then again, mine wasn't dense pound cake, LoL.

Tuesday:
18 Kids and Counting (S03E19): an episode of Q&A, just like on Jon and Kate last night. The older four girls are actually all gone at the same time?!? amazing. Southern Baptist is their actual denomination. I'm curious as to how that differs from generic Baptist... LoL. There were a lot of questions that have been covered throughout the series, so I'm kinda confused as to why people asked again if they genuinely cared... since real fans knew a lot of the early answers. I was glad that they addressed "dancing," but their response was pretty plain... they don't like the shaking of bodies because it might make people have desires, LoL. I also found it strange that they showed a lot of the things that would normally be edited out, LoL - like Michelle getting up and taking care of kids and then coming back, etc. I didn't appreciate how a couple questions were ignored, like "could the girls wear pants if they wanted?"

(S3E20) I didn't really care for JimBob picking up his cell in an interview and notifying the other party that they'd be late... fake, and it surprised no one, LoL. LoL at JimBob thinking it was crazy that 1200-1500 people would "get up that early" to run. It was nice that the girls walked and the boys (for the most part) ran, all getting to participate in his/her own way. was really cute for three of the little boys to be interviewed, and I loved that one of them asked offscreen Jana if he was present for a certain event.

Ruling out another show

Friday:
Monk (S08E09): in all the years that the show has been on, why hasn't Mr. Monk's birthday ever been a problem before? But seriously, poor Monk. The kids leaving the party after the entertainment but before the cake is seriously really sad, and it hurt me. :( Obviously, a lot of Natalie trying to throw Monk a party follows. Natalie telling Monk to choose between the port-a-john and the dumpster was funny. And I slightly thought it was a ploy for the party until the policeman got shot, then I freaked. Monk getting Cowboy Hank again made me happy.

Sunday:
The Simpsons (S21E04): the annual Treehouse of Horror episode. These are typically quite good, at least in my opinion. I loved the beginning with the costume changes - werewolf Harry Potter is hilarious. "you're a smart kid, bet you like ideas" LMAO. The funny definitions of "ding dong ditch" and "TP her" were amusing. Although my jaw seriously dropped when Bart pulled Hooper's head from his bag. Reverend Lovejoy's wife is Lisa's godmother?!? I know the Treehouse episodes are non-canonical in the sense that they take place in an alternate universe, but that's still an interesting thought. The communion joke was pretty funny, too. The musical number was a letdown this year, tho.

Family Guy: no new episode this week.

American Dad! (S05E04): I'm sorry. This episode was ridiculous all around. I think this will be the end of my American Dad! watching.

Monday:
How I Met Your Mother (S05E05): so this episode was really funny. I was a bit confused as to why Marshall and Lily are just a "we" now as opposed to the past ten years that they've been together and two years they've been married?? The Tantrum stuff was realllly amusing. "4 minutes" is all it took for Marshall to happy up in the car, haha. Why listen to the dog story without Lily?? not the best episode, since both storylines felt kinda rushed.

Lincoln Heights (S04E06): Poor Lizzie, still thinking about Johnnie Nightingale. Whatever happened to that lesbian friend of Cassie's - the minister's daughter? It got creepy when Lizzie kept trying to get in extra sleep so she could see Johnnie more. I love how the 7th Heaven Martin character has come back as a womanizer. I was quite impressed with the scenes where the family is just waiting on word from the Army. I'm trying to decide how cliche it is that Lizzie is falling for a white boy like Cassie.

House, M.D. (S06E06): I thought that the joke about Cameron in those pants was funny. That room was so Amber-centric it was creepy. I looooved: "Don't you have school?" "recess." hahahaha. The shot of Wilson talking to Amber before bed was really sweet... and sad. "Visiting hours don't apply to my patients," haha.

Little People, Big World: missed "Downhill Dwarf" and "Game Over"

Jon and Kate Plus Eight (S05E18): kinda whiny of Kate in the beginning to talk about all the trips they've taken this year. The butterfly thing was neat, and the girls with the birds and insects were cool. Jon and the rocket were boring, and the water balloons were funny. Reminds me of my brother and I not really getting into water balloons appropriately when we were around eight and five, respectively. Kate saying "rigmarole" was funny, too. "Kate the Dragon" was ridiculous, tho. Apparently Kate has no more fear of heights... since she mentioned that she'd even do this again, too. The fact these puppies air out of order is so annoying... like this episode is stated as taking place before school started, so why not air it before the "First Day of School" episode?!? I guess the filming is taking a nosedive tho, since next week seems to be only Kate in the show.

Tuesday:
18 Kids and Counting: well, I missed the new episode but did catch "Duggars and Bates Reloaded" (S03E05) It's really focused on the Bates family, and could have served as a pilot for them. It was a very nice episode, but it was strange that JimBob kept talking as if the visit was a surprise, but the Bates had planned on them coming... Kelly Bates' request of "more beds" was strange in context, but she meant for the company, which a lot of bloggers on the 'net apparently didn't understand, LoL. I could swear Jessa/Jinger wore eye makeup in the interview segment... I did finally understand why that remodel got out of control like it seemed on the other episodes covering this story arc, LoL. It never ceases to amaze me how little space some really large families make do with.

New Duggar, Roloffs are Back, Butters is a Pimp

Friday:
Monk: haha, Monk has to go to group therapy instead of individual. It was really funny for Monk to try and fix all of his problems in one last individual session. Monk gets creative and gets Natalie to pedal him on a tandem bike on Dr. Bell's route... but this is also on the previews, so I was hoping another sneaky attempt to get free therapy would happen, but nope. Monk coming in to the first therapy session late was amusing... Monk thinking that he was the murderer just because it made sense to kill off those people was funny, and when he made the comment about how the cleaning products as the weapon was his perfect match, I was practically rolling. Finally, I was very moved that Harold would switch therapists so that Monk could be alone in his group therapy. I couldn't believe that Monk's archenemy would do such a nice thing, especially when you think back to certain old episodes where Harold was dying to even get the name of the doctor Monk was seeing!

Sunday: (regarding all these Sunday night FOX shows... I feel like there were too many commercial breaks... I like the longer tv/longer commercials)
The Simpsons: haha, 97,000 pages of porn in searching "girls having fun" to find "crazy bowling." The sign outside the police station was also pretty funny "No police -- be good." I guess "Ultimate Fighting" just hasn't been made fun of anywhere, haha. Marge's take on it was quite reminiscent of the REALLY old episode where she takes on the violence in Itchy & Scratchy. Nelson wants to be an event planner... haha, makes me laugh. AND haha "septagon," thought that was kinda a crazy add-in. AND "that flattens my soda pop" is funny. But the episode was pretty bad, so I began to zone out... and do other things... so no more comments after that part of the episode.

Family Guy: "Lois Griffin, poop for one" was pretty funny... and the elephant exchange made me giggle... especially since the elephant "couldn't remember" how long it would take him. Peter's character really weighs 270 pounds? DUMP/DUMPF was kinda funny. "everything from A to backwards R" haha. I liked the appearance that the game "go bananas" made, but the "one word at a time" was kinda dumb here. I think one of the things that I appreciate about Family Guy is that NOBODY seems to get ALL of the pop culture references. It's like a little something for everyone, and I like that.

American Dad: um, dumb paper airplane junk. remote controlled airplane... cool. super sad face about the little prison birdie getting killed. And I guess "no questions" means only until you get tied up by the Chinese mafia. ...and the moral of the fight: hit everyone in the nuts. I hope to see the squirrels again, they were pretty funny.

Monday:
How I Met Your Mother: "Tweed is the textile of the eunuch," lmao. I want Lily and Marshall to be MY couple friends! I think it would kill my husband tho, LoL. I'm getting annoyed by their flashback sets tho. Why didn't Ted and Robin ever do the couples night with Marshall and Lily? I gotta say that the poem by Barney this week was one of my FAVORITE monologues EVER. I loooooooved it. I may need to reproduce it. Lily's tubetop-ish shirt didn't seem to fit her well. And the Barney-Robin depression scenes were realllly out of character.

Lincoln Heights: the teddy bear had $50,000 of PURE heroin in it?? Dear God! Cassie acting like it's all going to go away overnight is dumb and annoying. Lizzie wore a strange outfit the morning they went to Gabriel's apartment. Who talks on the phone when they're having an Italian suit custom-made?? And I know that Charles is only a teenager, but he should be able to understand that an illegitimate child is not something that an important person needs. A nephew who has been taken in is fine, there was no reason for him to freak out like that. Likewise, Cassie should have just left well enough alone, there was no reason to freak out to her parents. I think it's amusing how everyone is trying to catch the bandit. And that they're really hyping up the danger of the area this season. Poor Lizzie, she just can't seem to stop running into trouble. :( It took until this point for Eddie to realize that Cassie loves Charles?? I was surprised that Charles' crappy father didn't try to talk to the other son after Charles left... fill him full of stories, etc. THe entire Marco storyline has been weird since its inception, but oh well, it's over now.

House, M.D.: I thought 13's jump to talk about her "big dog" was funny. Chase and Foreman scurrying around to come up with various lies is amusing. Cameron actually getting to test out one of her ideas was nice... usually they just dismiss her suggestions. Why doesn't Cuddy realize that something will go seriously wrong, not just "come clean, no big deal" regarding the Dibala case? Really, why would Wilson cancel 13's strange & random Bangkok trip?? C'mon, it's ALWAYS House.

Little People, Big World: wow, it's been gone forever, but it's back! the new opening is cute. new mule/workhourse was BIG. SOOOOOO many projects on that property, good gracious! I was hit hard by the fact that "divorce" was mentioned just four minutes into the episode! Molly & Amy were wearing Central Michigan apparel... ? how did we NEVER see the castle before, unless I've just missed it every time?? The finished castle is pretty freaking awesome, tho!

Zach got a custom-made suit which is nice. I thought it was funny that he didn't know what lapels, buttons, cuffs, pockets, etc. he wanted. Of course, everyone was seventeen once, so it makes sense. The outside look of the house is a lot different than it originally was, but at least it's all in once piece, LoL. I thought it was weird/funny that Amy was hemming Zach's pants the day of... why not get them done by the suit ladies? Jeremy doing Zach's hair was funny. I really loved Zach and Molly crying out "Mom!" throughout the getting-ready process. The time difference is so great... this episode was like last January or so, a much greater difference than in most other TLC shows. I love how different Jeremy's hair is all the time. And then the last few minutes were again devoted to the struggles of Amy & Matt's marriage.

Jon and Kate Plus Eight: Yay!! First day of school for the six!! "Junior kindergarten?" Kate really seemed to struggle with the kids in the shoe store. Stride Rite... the same place that the Hayes family went with their kids... The kids were much more ready for this than they were for preschool! Why is the bus stop at a shopping center, LoL? And they finally said it, "with only a limited number of episodes left." Kate hadn't been to Mady & Cara's room in how long??? She doesn't tuck them in? anything?

Tuesday:
18 Kids and Counting: still no more "one on the way." It's not unheard of to change the opening credits mid-season, I want them to do it! LoL. Yahoo messed up their description of the episode and called Anna "Amy"!!!!! I thought it was amusing that Michelle and Anna had an OB appointment on the same day, haha. But this is obviously a time-lapsed episode, since Anna was only 30 weeks along here, and she had the baby last week at 38ish weeks. (Plus, Michelle conceived on Father's Day and she's 9 weeks along.) JimBob actually said that he feels helpless without the older girls (similarly, I was kinda surprised that ALL of the older girls got to go on the outing, I assumed they'd leave 1 or 2 at home!). It was interesting that Anna addressed the "pressure to have a lot of kids" issue. We also saw a shot of the "home church" that is held at the Duggar's house. Suzanne talked again, but we still don't know why she was there for several months... Josh needs to sell 6 cars a month to break even... that's interesting... Josh and Anna don't have good homework habits. :( And I was unsure how Josh didn't know what to expect from a Bradley class at all... his mom and several of his sisters (not to mention his DAD) have all gone before. haha, the Bradley instructor commented on Josh's weight (he is getting some moobs, after all). Has Anna changed the way she's doing her eyebrows? They look kinda thinner than I remember. Josh "trading" for a limo was cool, and it was nice to see Anna's family all there for the shower! The Duggars have a soda fountain in the house? I never noticed that before. I want the recipe for "cherry vanilla ice cream punch" !! The inclusion of Psalm 127:3 was nice, I had never seen a Bible verse on a baby cake before. The chocolate diaper game grossed me out... even if the families enjoyed it. I liked the idea of mothers having bigger flowers on their shirts than non-mothers (at least that's how I understood it... maybe the distinction was something else completely). Josh was using an iphone app for the contractions... cute. Um, once you're IN LABOR, I think you should have a plan. Just because your doctor is out of town, you don't know what to do?!? I understand that Anna wasn't a big fan of other/strange doctors, but many first-time mothers deliver early, so two weeks early when you know your doctor is out of town, you HAVE TO HAVE A BACKUP plan. The idea of showering often in the late stages of labor intrigued me, just because I hadn't heard of that before. The cameraman and Josh switching places was a little funny. At what point do they head to the hospital? It didn't look like they went that night, unless they just took their time.

Wednesday:

South Park: I never would have thought to have a kissing booth for $5 when I was nine years old. These kids are geniuses sometimes, haha. And $2 for hugs, hahaha. What kinda sting operation doesn't arrest the guy until AFTER doing the deed??!? There are pimping CONVENTIONS?!? The stings were really too graphic for me, I was deeply disturbed by the second one. I didn't think you could lie tho... the guy literally asked if she was a cop and she said no... Butters is so cute saying "do you know what I am saying" and enunciating every word, haha. Hold up. Wait a minute. Butters also has REAL hoes?!? I just can't get over how funny it is.. and the scene where Butters goes to ACORN to file some stuff is hil-freaking-larious. I love that hoes can get health insurance, LMAO.

Sidenote, I have been wanting to make a South Park character one and off for three years or so. But I never got around to it until this week. I've included her to the right, and I think she's adorable. :)

Friday:
Monk: no new episode this week.

Sunday:
The Simpsons: some funny lines. I would never in a million years have thought to get a teacher drunk when I was in the fourth grade.. I'm not sure if this is just a sign of the times or if I wasn't creative enough at a young age, or if FOX is starting to go too far.

Family Guy: haha, Quagmire really didn't know that there was porn on the internet, lmao. but the main point of the episode on Judaism was only mildly entertaining.... bah.

American Dad: funny Little Mermaid skit in the beginning. whyyyyyy are Roger and Klaus wearing s&m clothes for hiking?? this was actually pretty funny... with the role-playing games and such. and water park inside the mansion? amazing. I want one in my house now, LoL.

Monday:
How I Met Your Mother: um, what is Lily wearing with the red 70s designs? and strange blondish highlights in her decidedly red hair. I love that Ted is teaching Barney how to date Robin, LoL. I'm even more in love with ADD NPH than I am on a regular basis. <3 style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;">

Lincoln Heights: oh, dreams. starting with Tay the DJ, LoL. Why does he think that he's entitled to so much money at all? It clearly needs to go to the parents and the house and such... especially since they got ripped off by the FEMA scam. And... he's so influenced... using a credit card of a stranger with only a slight chance there's any chance he'll be able to pay it off?? I love how "good" Lizzie is, she's just a shining star sometimes. And she genuinely cares about the kids. I get weirded out that Charles and Cassie have things to say to each other first thing in the morning at school... why don't they talk to eachother on their cellphones before bed, LoL? Especially since later Charles says, "we're gonna talk and text constantly." Why wouldn't Lizzie put the bear much higher if it was subject to being stolen??!? When did the Sutton's house get a fence? Why does Lizzie think it's okay to take a kid away from a sitter's house without permission? Um, big problem. Cassie and Charles get REALLY dressed up to meet his father... but I guess it's a big occasion for them. Cassie.... c'mon now... "better for the environment" to share a bed? worst.excuse.ever. um, protection? Um, school just started... how is Charles going to leave for "a week, two weeks," forever? I guess just live in Santa Barbara permanently.... boo. I want him on the show regularly. Why in the hell is the bear stuffed with drugs?? and WHY doesn't Lizzie call her dad about what to do!!?? Unless that's going to be the start of next week...

House, M.D.: interesting opening with the subpoena. "you two are both competent" -really, Foreman? That's your line to win over Chase and Cameron? Love how Cameron's first words to House were "you look good," haha. and I definitely didn't realize that olestra could be a medication... I thought it was just that bad diuretic they put in chips for a while, LoL. Why would "cooking smells" waft down a floor?? I didn't really care for this character for James Earl Jones, either. And I realllly hated the neighbor in Wilson's apartment building. I had forgotten that Cameron's first name was "Allison" ... thanks, Chase. Speaking of which, what are we doing... killing off ALL of the characters? Now Chase kills someone, let's see him get caught and go to jail.

Jon and Kate Plus Eight: really... Kate, the biggest Type-A ever, is having an organizer come in?? AND, didn't we do this once before, last house? Why does she have 8 million bottles of laundry detergent? Did whoever sponsors her give her a year's worth all at once, LoL? And this episode had to happen while Kate's best friend from Michigan was visiting?? Kate has an elliptical AND a treadmill, ok. But she's never had/used a label maker before, no. Why isn't Kate donating the toys? She mentioned they're just "trash." The twins' calendars were really cute... maybe I'll do something like that for my future babies. :) why do do you need labels for the "toilet paper" shelf? Will you ever have it empty for so long that you forget what goes there? no. Why did Kate hitting herself in the leg make the edits? Kinda neat that Kate took Cara and Medy to the Jonas Brothers concert. I wonder what venue they went to, since they live in the middle of nothing... maybe Pittsburgh or Philly, which dates this episode July 23-25. which makes a big gap before next week, which we know will be the sextuplets' first day of kindergarten. final thoughts: that is SOOOOO much storage space! geez.

Tuesday:
18 Kids and Counting: I was expecting the opening to start including the new "one on the way" this week... since it's been announced for a full month now, but I guess not. Jill was sporting a new haircut... I didn't like it. It was nice to see one of the younger boys helping to get stuff together (he was sorting dresses or something?). It was really nice to see all the younger photos of the kids, I've been wanting an episode like this for a long time. Wow, engagement after just five months! "I wish I would've waited like Josh did" haha. AND a Christmas Eve proposal... cute. I can't believe how many buttons that dress had... I would've gone crazy. I had a zipper with a hook-and-eye at the top, that was good. I actually liked Michelle's dress, considering the sleeves and neckline "requirement."
I took note of what Michelle had to say about each kid, that was fun.
Josh - "I like him." haha.
John-David - mellow.
Jana - high energy. chatterbox toned down as she grew up.
Jill - sweet.
Jessa - "a little spunky thing." "made us learn a lot more about parenting." "so smart."
Jinger - Michelle really only talked about the birth, since it was a good home birth... but nothing notable about the child. :(
Joseph - man of few words. hard worker. muscle.
Josiah - people person. creative.
Joy Anna - tough.
Jedidiah - deep thinker.
Jeremiah - (I never realized how different he looks from ALL the other boys! except maaaaybe James. he was a very different face) loves to draw.
Jason - funny one-liners.
James - Michelle really seems to like his looks, haha. She talked about how cute he is a LOT. But later Michelle mentioned that he can make Jennifer laugh, LoL.
Justin - Michelle only mentioned the birth, again. :(
Jackson - Michelle mentioned he was "a jumping jack" in the womb, but other than that, nothing about his personality.
Johannah - JOSH described her as active and daring. nothing from Michelle.
Jennifer - nada.
Jordyn-Grace - unless you want to count "sweet and precious," nothing here, either.

South Park: well, given the typical storylines, it makes sense that they'd try and cover everything that happened since the last new episode in April. And mix it with The Sixth Sense and cute little Ike. nice. plus some really bad Ghost Hunters. The "spooky doctor" had waaaaay too much airtime. Michael "in denial of everything" was kinda dumb. and then he embodied Ike.... cr@p. and some Toddlers and Tiaras for good measure. the "baggage" joke was the best.
Featured celebrities included: Billy Mays (the Chipotle jab was funny). Farrah Fawcett. David Carradine. Ed McMahon. Walter Cronkite (voice only). Michael Jackson (voice only). Bea Arthur (only by sight). Patrick Swayze. Liam Neeson's wife (only by sight)

Back in the Swing of Things

Friday:
Monk: voodoo. well, it's unique, I guess I can say that. I didn't get to see the episode live (was in Florida), but lucky for me, USA just keeps showing their new stuff, LoL. Randy was being a pansy, afraid to open the actual box at the second murder victim's house, LoL. "Call an ambulance. A different ambulance, this one's cursed!" A very intruiging crime, I was completely stumped as to how the packages and the mail worked out, etc.

Sunday:
The Simpsons: I feel like we've had enough comic book heroes on Simpsons. I thought that the public not wanting to look at Homer was funny, and the way he "slimmed down" was amusing. okay, this was a horrible season opener. the end.

Family Guy: alternate universe television episodes are always amusing.

American Dad: I'm thinking of giving up on this show. I was never really a fan of the plotline or most of the characters, and I can't say that I really enjoy the idea behind the show, either. objections?

Monday:
How I Met Your Mother: funny Ted premise. Why couldn't we get hotter girls to be the strippers? why didn't we get the backstory as to who set Ted up on that blind date both times? Why did Ted's not calling her the first time end the second date? It's been SEVEN years!! ummmm... OMG Marshall gets a boner when he drives by cemeteries because his fantasies include dead Lily? ahhhhh. We also know that this can't be the Mother, so the imagined wedding was a dumb move.

Lincoln Heights: Leave it to Sage to get in the way. I love how crazy-dangerous this show is. Tay gets beat up, Cassie almost gets hit by a car, and that's in the first twenty minutes, LoL. I hate crappy parents, I really do. Charles' mom just makes me so, SO angry. The nerve-wracking part of the show definitely keeps me on the edge of my seat, like watching the fake wheelchair-bound guy try to kill Nate Ray, and pull a SECOND GUN!! Sidenote, Tay is looking uglier these days, guess he's not gonna age well, LoL. (oh, and I HAAAATE how Charles went back to his mom after all that. grrrr.) I also don't like how Charles pawned off the mysterious money on Eddie... now he doesn't know the source and it'll never get properly sorted out. Plus, knowing the Suttons, they may go and donate the money instead of using it themselves... :-/

House, M.D.: strange opening with the video game, LoL. The cat guy looked like he belonged on Thundercats, LoL. "janky" got used before the first five minutes were up. 13 had quite a bit of makeup on this episode... and still hating House's haircut. I like how Foreman's making it easier to hate him these days. I was happy that Nolan was back. Why does Taub keep bringing up Foreman's pants?? House taking up cooking with Wilson was kinda interesting, and I especially enjoyed the medical methodology being used in the kitchen. This episode had a lot more sexual references than usual... hope that show's tone isn't headed that way. "in public, the team opinion is your opinion" is not the way House ran things, and it makes me hate Foreman more. again. "I like to pretend they can see me eating" while watching Biggest Loser was the funniest line of the night (for me). I liked how Foreman read off faxed-in ideas and Taub and 13 took turns shooting down the suggestions. House is far too clever sometimes... Labrador Retriever pee? Brilliant. House solved the case after all that... I love it. loooooove it. Hated the ending. grrr. But I guess if House is coming back, 13 can return, so all is well again, haha.

Lie to Me: I'm thinking of leaving this show behind before I even begin commenting on it. Do any readers want to hear about this show? If so, it'd be easy enough to add in, my husband watches it religiously... I'm just not that into it.

Jon and Kate Plus Eight: wait. now it's a flashback to North Carolina again (which apparently was in like June, since Cara and Mady missed a week of school for it... but that's a separate issues)?!? Dang I hate the continuity issues on this show! Leah's hair got long! It's also interesting how the paparazzi is everywhere but I never see those photos in the tabloids at the grocery store... When did Cara get her ears pierced? I know Mady did last year when Cara went rollerblading, but I guess it ended up not being anything worth noting on the show, LoL. I kinda hate how much Kate complains about eating things like ice cream... it seems that she makes at least one comment every episode.

Tuesday:
18 Kids and Counting: I love how included Jana was with the renewals, but some things (like telephoning various vendors and parties) should have been done by Michelle. I couldn't believe how rude the dress people were when JimBob asked about a puff-sleeved dress! And I couldn't believe how the little girls were chewing gum as they stood over the wedding dress in the package... I'm pretty sure someone would have died if gum got anywhere remotely near my gown. One more thought... the Huckabee show was on August 1st, but the Duggars didn't announce their newest pregnancy until September 1st... so at least the store really did take 6 weeks or so to order/ship the gown.

Sidenote: Michelle looked really confused when Huckabee asked about Jon and Kate, probably because she doesn't watch that... and he should have known that, LoL. Michelle really left for a week at one point? wow. D@mn Josh and his need to point out junk, like what his daughter's name is to be. I also thought it was really strange that they rehashed some of the pranks they pull on eachother... especially that they shared televised pranks, nothing new.

And why are Josh and Anna referring to their little "first anniversary vacation" as a "second honeymoon" ? LoL.

Wednesday:
Glee: This being Kristin Chenoweth's episode,I gave the show a last chance to "wow" me. Don't get me wrong, I love listening to those kids croon some Journey, and Finn is growing on me, but the values in this show kill me. Equus as a HS production? Being failed over and over so you can continue to act/sing/play sports, etc.? ugh. The HS dropout drinking boxed wine and squatting in a house? ugh. I'm not sure where to start with April/Kristin getting the kids to drink, shoplift, be promiscuous, etc... and I'm just gonna leave the issue of Will's selfish motives for keeping around the bad influence alone. And why does Rachel have no problem quitting club after club? It's wrong of Will to take her back AND put her in the spotlight again. If he takes her back after the attitude she had before, she should have started at the bottom and had to re-earn a position as a lead singer. It should have taken a long time, like issues are handled seriously - think Drumline if nothing else! And then she quits and gets full creative control of the play?!? ahhhhh! But wait, DRUNK Kristin/April gets to sing in the concert after DRIVING DRUNK. nope. can't take it it. there's no way Will should have let her go on, regardless of whether or not she was needed. Yes, he decided to pull her (at intermission?), but then Rachel (who re-quit the play and is back here again) pulls her unethical crap. NO NO NO NO NO.
Um, how many glee club kids get music scholarships... seriously. The juxtaposition of Kristin/April and Rachel was kinda neat, but maybe a bit expected... And do the cheerios always have to wear those outfits?!? I hate Rachel's always saying "it's not easy being in the spotlight" lines... ahhhh! Oh, and realism... can someone who is 30 (and I'm shooting low) go to high school with regular kids in Ohio? Because you can't in Florida. The "date" between Finn and Rachel was cute, at least. Oh, and why are April and Rachel the only options for lead singer? What's wrong with the other girls? They've proven themselves a few times now...
anyway, bottom line. I can't take it. I will no longer be watching or supporting this valueless debauchery.
