Throwback: Futurama Done with Legos

by Amy K. Bredemeyer

Whether YOU would call this a throwback or not may be up for debate. Since Futurama is currently running, perhaps you wouldn't count it. But, it's back after quite the hiatus... and what I'm about to share was done during that break. Plus, it's done with Legos, which are a throwback for me, since I don't think I've played with them seriously since I was about twelve or thirteen.

I tend to really enjoy renderings, sketches, models, and reincarnations of any kind. People have drawn up floorplans of television houses. I've seen paintings showing famous television sets from different perspectives. The variety in the artwork is nearly unreal. Today, Legos are the medium. A few years ago, an individual replicated New New York and Planet Express, settings from Futurama, which just finished airing its sixth season a couple weeks ago. I think that they are exquisitely done and invite you to go have a look. For a teaser, check out this video to get an overall idea of the work that went into this!
