HIMYM: An Episode as Weak as Its Title

by Amy K. Bredemeyer

I don't think this episode was special in any way. I found it fairly boring and pretty uneventful. I don't know that it's worth re-watching, and we certainly didn't gain any major information from it. Catch the recap below if you want, but otherwise, moving on...

How I Met Your Mother "Field Trip" (S07E05): Robin starts off the episode still in therapy, but it "ends" because the therapist "move to Alaska." Turns out, he was attracted to her and didn't want to be around her. They end up having breakfast together every day for a week. Oh, and they're having intimacy issues. [slow moving story and not very intriguing. got it.]

Lily wants Marshall to tell stories in a much more cheerful manner so that the baby doesn't hear bad things. [that's pretty funny.]

Nora doesn't like ewoks so Barney asks the gang to break up with her for him, but of course they won't. [hahaha. not a deal-breaker for me, but given some of the other Star Wars deal-breakers we've heard on this series, I buy it. Though I was much more intrigued by the fact that barney then assumed Nora must be 37, haha!]

Ted's class goes on a trip to see the construction on the new building he's working on, but even though he's the architect, he can't get in. So, he takes the kids up to Barney's office, and he does a presentation on ewoks. [figures.] Then, he takes them to his apartment. Ted finally brings the field trip to the bar, then has them go home.

Marshall's company gets a tiny settlement, but they're celebrating with cake, champagne, and the limbo. He speaks out, willing to reject the offer even if he's the only one who feels that way. Marshall's boss ends up backing him in the rejection. [the Edward/Jacob thing was dumb.]
