Minimal Summaries this Week...

by Amy K. Bredemeyer

Reviews & [Commentaries] for "unscripted" shows this week include: Pregnant in Heels,16 and Pregnant, and Wipeout

Note: Complete reviews were written for Pregnant in Heels and 16 and Pregnant, but Blogger's outage erased them. So, I jotted down a few notes from what I can remember at this point (I was hoping that they'd come back like they were supposed to, but apparently not), and Wipeout still has a full review.
Monday:
Cake Boss  (S04Exx):  Episode 13 coming up.

Kate Plus Eight (S02Exx):  Episode 6 coming up.

Tuesday:
Pregnant in Heels "Birth-a-phobia" (S01E06):
Mummy IQ test questions today: ... I don't remember.
One client wanted a painting of her pregnant and naked on her horse (which is boarded in PA), but she gives birth early so she ends up having the painting be her and the baby on the horse. The other client is terrified of IVs and the entire birth process, but Rosie helps her through a lot of her anxieties. [season finale May 24th]

16 and Pregnant "Danielle" (S03E04):  her mom was 16 when she had her. Danielle gets caught up in a bad crowd in 9th grade, moves in with grandma, and meets her babydaddy (who has a suspended driver's license). She mentions that she won't be able to legally drink until her kid is in school. Babydaddy Jamie only works part-time at a fast food place, but ends up quitting and working with his dad. She's still only in 9th grade on her coursework, and she had no idea she was so far behind. She moves with her baby to Jamie's, but that doesn't work and she ends up moving back with her mom. Jamie is adamantly against daycare while the child (Jamie Jr.) is so young.

Thursday:
Wipeout "Spring Wipeout: Dirty Laundry" (S04E14): The qualifier today consists of a faulty bridge with some sweepers, then the twister melt, the springavator – conveyor belt to the big balls, then the spring fling – swinging platform with a small ball just before it, to the laundry room [nice to see something besides “the kitchen], with a few bouncing flats with holes to get through, and two scrubbers to climb over. RaginCajun actually makes it across the spring fling! Next, the scarousel, where the contestants have to go from a platform, across a couple pedestals, grab onto a suspended red dangler as it swings by, and ride it to the red finish spot. After that, ride a yellow dangler to the finish platform. There are several hurdles and sweepers trying to knock them off along the way. RaginCajun gets through it first, after falling off just before the end as well. Then, SuperManny, PuppyLover, Amish, Leprechaun, and LazyBum. CleanSweep is next. Each contestant is on a platform and must jump over a sweeper arm that gets higher as it continues to go around. The last person standing moves on, then everyone goes again two more times. RaginCajun won first. Amish wins next. Lastly, LazyBum wins when Leprechaun falls. Now, the WipeoutZone. Chairborne, then the over-and-out, the rotating slippery staircase, the slippery slide, and the coin toss. LazyBum is up first. She braces well for over-and-out, but waits to long to make a run for it on her first try. She’s a bit afraid of heights when she climbs the stairs. She slides too early. [how do they refill the 500-gallon thing so fast?!?] She falls off the coin toss twice before making it at 10:17. RaginCajun is next. He slips and falls when he tries to get off the over-and-out. He does fine on his second try and then follows the same technique on both roadblocks. He gets on a bad angle on the slide and falls off. He makes it on the second try. He makes the coin toss on the first try, finishing with 5:20!! Amish comes up…  she waits too long to get off the first over-and-out, but ultimately makes it without wiping out. She gets out of the second one on the first try. She’s just a bit early coming down the slide. She barely makes it onto the platform on her second try. She slips on the coin toss and time runs out before she can try again. [Funny that RaginCajun won… when he was first introduced, I turned and said to my husband, “this guy’s not going to make it” haha!]
