The biggest joke of this episode is how Reba says the word, "why" ??? Yep, I'm calling it quits on this one, as much as it pains me to give up on a family comedy trying to revive the TGIF of my youth. There's nothing to it and I'm hoping it gets canceled. If it ends up with a longer life than my beloved Better With You, I'm not going to be happy. I just can't see the appeal - it's not funny, it's too Reba-centric, and the grandmother/neighbor combo of annoying characters have already worn-out their welcome. Anyone disagree?
Malibu Country "Shell Games" (S01E03): Reba waits for Geoffrey to call, but Kim thinks that Reba should just stop the Ms. NiceGirl and just demand a meeting. [that stained glass-like window in the kitchen is a bit odd.] Well, Geoffrey is able to get in to talk to his boss, and though the guy likes Reba's song, he wants someone else to sing it: a rapper. [I'm not a big music person, but that's weird, no?] Kim suggests Reba keep trying, so she attempts to get a duet with the rapper. [why is KIM the voice of reason??] He goes for it, but Reba then takes issue with the back-up singers and the implications the rapper puts into her lyrics. Geoffrey tells Reba to go with the flow, but she sticks with her guns and he eventually agrees with her. [the song was SO WEIRD with both of them singing so differently! As someone who doesn't listen to country at all and isn't familiar with contemporary rap, is this common?]
