At this point, Melinda was destined to go home. She could have played her cards differently, perhaps staying mum about her lies to the guys' team, but nobody in this game is going to return after three banishments. However, the two teams finally have developed some distinct strategies which will begin to take prominence in the remaining competitions. For instance, it does not seem that Mikey B. or Chuck (or Chris, if he was interested) have a shot at being Counselor, regardless of how well either would do, as the guys have decided that only veteran leaders will bring the group to victory. On the other hand, the girls spread around the title, and all remaining have had the role, so they are aware of the tough choices it entails. The guys have realized the weaknesses in the girls' camp, but the girls don't seem to have figured out what a winning combination would be for their team. The men now having a two-member advantage going into the next round may very well shake up some things, depending on who will be forced into sitting out when they could have been the most useful players. The end is not quite in sight for this reality series, but there are some competitors who definitely seem more deserving than others.
Remaining Campers:
Rachel - 27, Wrightsville Beach, NC, "The Yogi." She has been Counselor.
Michelle - 24, Lafayette, LA, "The Bayou Bodybuilder" (aka Hooters bartender).
Melinda - 26, Denver, "The Geek." She does cosplay, was bullied at camp when she was younger, and is clumsy, especially for a professional stuntwoman. She has been banished twice.
Lauren - 23, Woodbury, MN, "The Mean Girl." She plays men's hockey. She has been banished once already. She has been Counselor.
Brooke - 23, Salt Lake City, "The Model." She attended a Mormon summer camp growing up. She has been Counselor twice.
Moises, 25, Miami, "The Firefighter." Has been Counselor.
Mikey B., 26, Middleton, NY, "The Smart Ass." He lost his virginity at a camp.
Cameron - 23, Florence, KY, "The Cowboy." He's a virgin. He has been Counselor.
Chuck - 25, Dubois, PA, The "Sci-Fi Nerd," who is also an Eagle Scout.
Chris - 25, Bronx. "The Class Clown" who teaches Special Ed and formerly attended Britney Spears' performing arts camp. He has been banished twice.
Kyle - 25, Prairie Village, KS. "The Broadway Performer." He has been Counselor.
Summer Camp "Secret Pact" (S01E06): Melinda comes clean immediately about throwing her teammates under the bus in order to stay at camp. She has a strategy to make the girls look divided, but it does not seem to change much. [the guys have mentioned this several times, and aside from a competitor "throwing" an event, I'm not sure why the unity of a team matters.] The guys think that someone new shouldn't be Counselor because leaders need to be strong, so they vote Cameron again. Michelle doesn't want to be Counselor, but she gets voted in anyway. [Rachel would only vote for Brooke or Michelle??]
The Camp Social is a Talent Show, with each Counselor choosing three guests. Cameron picks Kyle, Chris, and Moises. Michelle picks Lauren, Brooke, and Melinda. While the others peel potatoes, Brooke makes her breasts "dance," Melinda does a martial arts demonstration, Michelle shows off her strength, Chris raps, Moises dances, Cameron and Kyle sing, and Lauren "kisses." [Mikey B. doesn't know how to peel potatoes. first they don't know how to clean toilets, now this?? how do these people live on their own? and what kind of talent is "kissing" ??] Kyle's song, about camp and the campers, wins. Then, Michelle, Lauren, Cameron, and Moises agree that Melinda and Chris will be the next ones to go home.
The Color War has the teams driving in jeeps to three different campsites, where they will tear down what's there and pack everything up nicely into the cars. The girls choose Cameron to sit out. [I would have chosen Chuck in a heartbeat... you know he has done this all before!] The guys finish the first site first, but Chris ignores speed and ideal packing to sabotage the team. [he's kind of a jerk at this point.] The second sites are finished about the same time, and the third site is tougher because it is windy. However, the guys finish first, even if it was pretty close.

Hey! Chuck from Summer Camp here! I'm loving the weekly recap blog! I think you might be interested in a podcast I'm being interviewed for each week that also recaps the show, but with some insider-opinions. Obviously, I'm a little biased, but they've also had Lauren and Justin do interviews, and we all kind of "set the record straight" with some things that didn't make it into the finished episodes and what was going on between and behind the scenes. Check it out at ahaltingson.net if you're interested. Keep it up! We're in the home stretch now, and I'll definitely keep reading!
