Shows that Tape in NYC

by Amy K. Bredemeyer

I can be in Manhattan in about 90 minutes. I love this. Love, love, love this. A ten-minute drive to the train station, another five to park and buy a ticket, and a seventy-five minute ride in (unless I hit a rush-hour train, and then it's only sixty minutes). While I haven't seen a live television show being taped yet, I have seen a podcast being recorded. Recently, my husband and I wondered what shows we could go see being taped, and I decided others might be interested in this as well, for seeing on upcoming spring break trips to NY or something. Personally, I'm not sure what I'd like to see live... since I don't watch any of these regularly to begin with. Taking suggestions for what to see!! :)

Late Night With Jimmy Fallon
Saturday Night Live
The Late Show with David Letterman
The View
Late Night with Conan O'Brien
The Daily Show with Jon Stewart
Emeril Live
Good Morning America
The Today Show
Live! with Regis & Kelly
The Rachel Ray Show
The Tyra Banks Show
The Colbert Report
The Early Show
Who Wants to Be a Millionaire

This link
provides information for almost all of these. Most are pretty easy to get tickets to, and most are free. But don't expect to easily get some the day of a taping (and, in the case of Live! with Regis & Kelly, plan on at least a year's notice!!).

There are also a variety of other shows that tape in NYC, but you can't see them being taped:
30 Rock
Damages
Gossip Girl
Law & Order
Law & Order: Criminal Intent
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit
One Life to Live
Rescue Me
Sesame Street
Ugly Betty
White Collar

I want to see The Daily Show since I love love love Jon Stewart. I really should try to go soon.

The View could be good because they give stuff away to the audience every day.

cool, I didn't realize The View gave away things.

Also, I found out this morning that two more shows can be seen in NY:
America's Got Talent (tickets: http://www.ocatv.com/shows/show/193/Americas_Got_Talent_in_NYC/)
Marriage Ref (tickets: http://www.1iota.com/shows,NBC---The-Marriage-Ref,136.html)
