Chuck Giveaway Winner!

by Amy K. Bredemeyer

Thank you to everyone who participated in the recent Chuck giveaway. We had 12 entries on the post itself, and no additional entries made via comments on other posts this week. As was mentioned in the contest post, a winner was chosen at random, and we used random.org. Comment #1 was the winner!

Comment #1 was from Kelly Schrumpf - congratulations, Kelly!

We have contacted Kelly and look forward to getting the shirt out to her. TheTalkingBox continues to have giveaways 2-4 times each month, so be sure to check back for your chance to win!

GIVEAWAY: CHUCK T-SHIRT

by Amy K. Bredemeyer

Chuck was a big deal at Comic-Con back in July. Tons of people were super-excited to see star Zachary Levi appear on several panels, and many folks stood in line for hours to be sure they'd have a spot when the official Chuck panel took place. At that panel they gave out t-shirts promoting the final season of the show, which begins October 28th. So, since it's been sitting amongst other supplies for a few months, it does have a few wrinkles (as you'll see in the photos below) but it is still brand new! And, today you have the chance to win it!

The Prize: It's a white tee, Adult size Large. The front looks like a dress shirt, with images of a tie and pens and whatnot. The back makes it clear that it's for Chuck and even says when it's on so those looking at your shirt will know! Finally, you can see nun-chucks at the bottom of the shirt, as if they were tucked into one's pants.

How to Enter: if you regularly enter our contests, you know that there's generally only 1 entry per person. This time, however, we're giving you multiple ways to win. You must comment on this post as your primary entry. In that comment, reveal what you're hoping for in the final season. If you didn't use a log-in method to post, please leave a twitter handle, email address, or website in the comment so we can find you if you win.

If you'd like to have more than one entry, you can comment once more on ANY AND ALL posts on TheTalkingBox that go up after this one and before 11:59pm Pacific Time on Saturday, October 22nd. Now, these comments must be meaningful - saying "pineapples suck" isn't going to cut it. They don't have to be long, but relevance is key. In those comments, make sure it's clear that you're "you" - meaning that you should include the same contact info (i.e. twitter handle, email, etc.) in each so your chances are added up correctly.

How to Win:
No comments made after 11:59pm PT on Saturday, October 22nd will count. On Sunday, October 23rd, we will count up each comment made on this post and the subsequent posts (nothing posted before this one will count) and the winner will be selected via random draw. The more you enter, the greater your odds. If you have any questions, let us know!

News Roundup: 2 Broke Girls, Up All Night, Whitney picked up; Playboy Club canceled; and more!

by Amy K. Bredemeyer

Renewals, Cancellations, & Scheduling:
- Up All Night and Whitney get full-season pick-ups. [NBC Entertainment Press Release]

- 2 Broke Girls also got a full-season pick-up.

- NBC has canceled The Playboy Club, which faced plenty of opposition during its short airtime. Hugh Hefner believes that the show should have been on cable to begin with. One of the actors suffered an on-set injury earlier in the day.

- NBC has pushed the season premiere of Chuck and the series premiere of Grimm back a week; they will now start October 28th.

- CBS's Rules of Engagement will start on Saturday the 15th now, a week later than previously planned.

- That 90s block on TeenNick? It's moving to 10pm instead of midnight, and Hey Dude and Stick Stickly are being added.

Cast & Plot Updates:
- Melinda McGraw has been cast as one of Gibbs' ex-wives on NCIS.

Shows in Development & Other Fun Stuff:
- Oxygen green-lights The Next Big Thing, Brooklyn Crew, Tanisha Gets Married, all working titles. The first will follow Trapper Felides as he trains performers to break into show business. The second looks at a group of girls and the events that tore them apart. The last focuses on Tanisha Thomas' wedding planning process. [Oxygen Media Press Release]

- It's been all over the internet for the past few days... Arrested Development may be back for a short (9-10 episode) season and a movie.

- Universal Soldier will become a television show.

- Blood & Treasure is also under development, which will be a drama about two brothers who solve crimes and unearth secrets.

- Lifetime has ordered After the Runway to air after Project Runway, to give viewers additional insight.

- JoAnna Garcia (of Reba and Better with You) has a new show coming next year to ABC, where her character moves in with her husband's family.

- Because of host costly The Simpsons is to make, it may not have a bright future. The voice actors need to take a serious pay cut if the show will return next year.

- The Coen brothers are developing an hour-long show for FOX, currently called HarveKarbo.
