Sean Saves the World: Acting as a Mother

A simple storyline with a few characters carrying the bulk of the action... it worked. I don't think it will always work, nor was it completely believable... who makes it to 14 without owning a non-training bra? The next episode will probably be about how Ellie can't seem to make many friends, so when the popular girl invites her to a slumber party, it turns out it was just to make fun of her. COME ON! The audience understands that Sean is going to struggle with raising a daughter out of nowhere, so let's lay off the obvious, huh?

Sean Saves the World "Busted" (S01E02): Ellie needs a bra, and Sean isn't sure if he should turn to his mother or his BFF to help her. Both have keys to his apartment and help him keep food in the house, but after Max tries to help, Sean decides Liz is the one for the job. [Sean's boss really brought in a bra for Ellie? how horrific!] However, Liz picks out bras for eighteen-year-olds with no self esteem, making Ellie uncomfortable. [so many sexual references!] So, when Lorna offers to take Ellie, Sean agrees to that... but Lorna tries too hard to discuss human sexuality, Ellie freaks out. After placating the women, both jealous that the other was involved, he encourages his daughter to deal with the upcoming issues with whomever she feels most comfortable. [oh, and Sean giving Max a teddy for his mother (to demonstrate how inappopriate it is to buy lingerie for a coworker's family member) was even more awkward!]
