Okay, so this is primarily a television blog. But, we do talk about movies from time to time. Today's giveaway is in the film realm as well - a poster for Conan the Barbarian! The poster promotes the 3D film that is a new take on the character - this film is not related to the older Conan franchise.
A lot of work went into this film - allegedly it began development in 2000. Filming ended over a year ago, allowing plenty of time for 3-D conversion. The film premiered four days ago in France, Belgium, Iceland, and the Philippines, and opened in the United States this past Friday, August 19th. Whether you have or have not seen the film, you're eligible to win this poster if you reside in the United States. (apparently mailing a poster tube internationally isn't that easy.)
Poster measures 27" x 40" (standard American movie poster size) |
We had a nice chunk of entries for last week's giveaway, the book upon which the first season of Game of Thrones is based. Since Jason Momoa is the star of Conan the Barbarian and plays Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones, I suspect there may be some cross-interest there as well. We'll see!
How to Enter: You must leave a comment. Let me know if you liked the movie. Or if you enjoyed the older Conan interpretations. Or if you've read one of the novels. If you didn't personally see the movie but want to give the poster to your friend/brother/neighbor, tell me why they loved the film. You don't have to use one of the log-in methods - you may choose to comment anonymously. However, if I can't click on anything to reach you, leave your email address or twitter username so I can reach you easily if you win!
You can enter this giveaway up to THREE times. After leaving a comment (which is mandatory), you can follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook, each of which earns you an additional entry. If you already follow us, message us on Twitter to let us know you want your Conan entry. If you already like us on Facebook, post on the wall to let us know you want your Conan entry. If you're not into social media, no worries, you still get one entry with your comment below!
This giveaway will run about a week - no entries will be accepted after 11:59pm PT on Saturday, August 27th, 2011. A winner will be chosen via random number generator on Sunday, August 28th.
Thanks for entering, and let us know if you have any questions!

Gotta love the older Conan franchise. Just Arnold being Arnold. If it wasn't for this, I doubt he would have ever become the Terminator. And, the video game isn't bad either ;)
I thought this film was decent. It does its role as a action-packed movie with extreme violence, though I wished the dialogue was more in-depth.

I enjoyed the older Conan interpretations and I plan on seeing Conan The Barbarian.
I loved this Conan not that I seen the first Conan lol but who could pass up the opportunity to see Jason Momoa on the big screen? I sure as hell could have not passed up that opportunity, and I am sure not a lot of women/girls could have either. But behind the hot guy their is a Fu***** kick a** story!
The movie was very bloody and over the top but its good to know Conan does bot always speak with an Austrian accent. Jason Momoa was very good and it was funny seeing Rose MacGowan as an evil (unCharmed) witch.
