SEASON FINALE: Teen Mom 2: Custody Issues Everywhere

I think it's time we left these ladies to live their own lives. However, there are big changes on the horizon, especially regarding custody, so as much as I think they should live in peace, it may be the opposite. They all seem to need the money (well, maybe not Chelsea), and I think the desire of the fans to see what happens may keep this gravy train rolling. I mean, how will Corey handle having the girls 50% of the time? What will Leah do with herself when she only has Addy for half of the month? Will Kailyn and Javi succeed in college? Will Jenelle really clean up her act enough to be able to care for two children full-time? Will Chelsea ever have a steady significant other again? How will Ali's life be different now that she has her own wheelchair? Will Jace do better in this school than his last? Will Isaac continue to adore his baby brother? Apparently I could sit here and write questions all day, but the point is that maybe we shouldn't have access to all of these answers...

Teen Mom 2 "All Grown Up" (S05E25) [Season Finale]:
Leah: Corey lets Aleeah try Ali's temporary wheelchair. [the exact opposite of the lesson Leah is trying to teach Aleeah...] The insurance approves Ali's wheelchair, which they'll get within a month, after a year of waiting. [holy cow, it's been a YEAR?!?] Corey considers taking a job that's 36 hours on the weekends, so he'd be able to spend more time with the girls during the week, continuing his push for more custody.
MTV
Kailyn: Kailyn gets upset that Jo got Isaac's hair cut in an "ethnic style," and Jo gets really upset that Kailyn might be pushing racist views upon their son. [I didn't understand Isaac's hairstyle being typical of any race... it's not like he was wearing a Jheri curl...] Vee seems tired of having Isaac around all the time, but Isaac returns to Kailyn's custody, so that's not going to be a topic.

Jenelle: She asks Barbara for custody of Jace, and Barbara says that Jenelle needs a yard first. [what an odd requirement!] Plus, Nathan needs to drink less and Jenelle needs to research the school situation. So, Barbara suggests a transitional year, so Jace can attend the charter school Barbara has him in, and everyone can slowly make the adjustment. [anyone betting Jenelle is going to move closer to her mother?]

Chelsea: Her friends plan to go to Minneapolis for speed-dating, so she goes along, but none of them really enjoy the experience. [what they showed was pretty horrific.] Adam went back to jail as part of a plea bargain, but Chelsea and Randy decide to wait it out before pushing for more strict custody rules.

New Season, New Format

We're changing up our episode recaps and remarks for the new television season, mainly to shift our focus to covering new series and specials before they air rather than after. We believe this will help you make more fitting choices as to what to watch, and it will also help out our subscribers not to receive as many articles about shows they potentially have no interest in, as our current lineup is very broad.

But, we're not dropping recaps with remarks completely. We will still cover pilots we deem promising, and we'll be writing about holiday episodes of those and of our returning favorites. Plus, we are continuing to cover some series in their entirety, particularly cable shows that are tougher for you to catch up on elsewhere. What does this mean for your favorite show? For all of the series we were currently recapping, here are their fates:

Teen Mom 2: Custody, Vacation, Court, Mistakes

I'm over here rolling my eyes at Jenelle's ridiculousness. Her responses to Nathan about wanting Jace to start school with Barbara, then move the next year sounded an awful lot like "my hands are full with the newborn; let's wait until he's toddling around to take on a school-age child at the same time." But, then, as soon as she gets jealous of Barbara, she does a 180 and decides to fight for Jace, even if it's not in anyone's best interest. Kailyn and Leah were pretty tame this episode, and I felt bad for Chelsea. She took her time getting her act together, but she is eons ahead of Adam, and I bet she regrets her history with him all.the.time. I am so angry over Aubree's poor little burned knee!

Teen Mom 2 "Wish You Were Here" (S05E24): It's July for Jenelle, as Kaiser was born on the last day of June. No easy answers for the timeline for Chelsea and Leah. It's June for Kailyn, as the family vacation is the week of Father's Day. [Father's Day picture below, as odd as it appears.]
facebook.com/TeenMom2
Jenelle: Kaiser is a couple weeks old, and Jenelle wants to take Jace overnight, though she and Nathan are both exhausted. [Jenelle should know not to offer to take Jace if she knows she can't handle the drive!] Nathan wants Jenelle to get custody of Jace, which Jenelle fights up until she learns Barbara took him to see the fireworks, an opportunity she wanted.

Leah: More information must be gathered before the judge can make any decisions about child support or custody. A Guardian ad Litem has been appointed to communicate between all parties.

Kailyn: She tries to facetime with Isaac, but isn't always able to. Kailyn, Javi, and Lincoln enjoy time at the beach. Kailyn and Javi take a tour of the campus and learn about the Mass Communications program Kail is enrolling in. [I didn't know she introduced herself as Kail! I wonder if it is at all related to trying to distance herself from her reality television personality?]

Chelsea: She and her boss do makeup on-location for a wedding and then start to figure out what additional services they can offer. Adam gets arrested again, but Adam's parents are honest with Chelsea and she lets them keep Aubree for the remainder of the weekend. Still, Aubree rides a dirt bike with Adam and burns her knee. [OUCH! and no helmet?!?] Chelsea requests a copy of Adam's criminal record so she can keep track of his court dates.

Teen Mom 2: Softball, Summer Plans, Custody, New Baby

This particular spin-off of 16 and Pregnant really follows the statistics. Jenelle now has a second child (within five years of the first), Leah has three under 5, Aubree's dad fathered a second daughter, and Kailyn has two sons before she's 22. I probably should have figured this out before, and not been surprised, but I was caught off-guard when I thought about it today. Of course, Kailyn's maturity is ten times that of Adam, and Leah comes off as a far superior mother compared to Jenelle, so the individual stories remain unique as can be. I do hope that Isaac's time with Jo is seen on the show, and if Corey gets custody, we see more of his parenting as well.

Teen Mom 2 "Summer Daze, Summertime Sadness" (S05E22): It's clearly summer, probably June.
Chelsea: She gives Aubree a mini facial. [why?] Adam is seeing a new girl, Jessica, and brings her to Aubree's softball game. [I like how Chelsea's dad's company sponsors the team, LoL.]
MTV
Kailyn: During the summer, Jo gets Isaac for six weeks, which is a problem for Kailyn's beach vacation plans. She also worries about routine, as she gets Isaac to bed by 7:30, but Jo barely manages 8:45. [that sounds really late for a four-year-old! I remember thinking my second-grade friend was super cool because her bedtime was 9pm!]

Leah: Her lawyer sends Corey documents asking for more money and medical authority over Ali. Ali has missed two therapy appointments. Leah cuts her hair short and can't decide how she feels about it. [her hair changes so often, who cares?!?]

Jenelle: She wants to have Jace during the week. She and Nathan get into yet another fight, and he won't help set-up the baby shower because he's upset. [eye roll.] Soon, she also storms out, upsetting Barbara. [eh. Barbara should expect this from her daughter at this point.]

Teen Mom 2 "Co-parenthood" (S05E23): It's still summer, and late June for Jenelle, who welcomed Kaiser on June 30th.
Chelsea: Aubree is at Taylor's to see Paislee, and Chelsea asks Taylor to stop posting pictures of Aubree online. [good for Chelsea.] Adam brings a different girl to Aubree's next softball game. [ha!]

Leah: Corey continues to fight for more custody of the girls, wanting 50/50. [I'm curious as to whether he'll get it? I also wonder in general why more parents don't want a similar arrangement...]

Kailyn: Isaac has a trampoline that he uses with the dog. Kailyn plans to finish college.

Jenelle: She has her baby shower. Her water breaks, and she drives to the hospital before her contractions start. [hahaha, I forget Nathan can't drive!] She has a natural childbirth. [does her probation prevent her from having drugs?] Nathan stays up making bottles so Jenelle can sleep.

Teen Mom 2: Kailyn Flyin Solo, Jenelle Busy with Life...

Chelsea is having more drama with Adam, but is trying to avoid conflict as much as possible. Kailyn struggles as a solo parent, but once Javi returns from training, things get better for them. Leah still doesn't have Ali's wheelchair situation straightened out, plus she apparently needs more money for the girls. Jenelle, however, maintains being ridiculously busy with arguments (with both her boyfriend and her mother), school (wonder if she'll be able to finish the quarter/semester as she gets closer to giving birth?), and being pregnant. At least she doesn't have to deal with those dogs herself.
MTV
Teen Mom 2 "Bad Behavior" (S05E20): It's May for Jenelle.
Chelsea: Adam gets arrested for driving with a suspended license during his weekend with Aubree, but his parents don't tell Chelsea. [I'm tired of everything falling on his parents. there must be great grandparents' rights in South Dakota!] Chelsea decides to make a behavior chart for home just like the one at Aubree's preschool.

Kailyn: Her mother, Suzi, comes to help out, as with Javi away, it's tough on Kailyn. Isaac doesn't think Javi cares about them because he's working. [aww. yeah, I bet that's tough on a kid.]

Leah: Leah is having problems with the wheelchair speed, as it seems to be stuck in slow mode, so Corey and Miranda rent a stroller at the zoo. [that sucks. it's so far to get to the hospital they're borrowing it from, too!] Leah talks to Aleeah about why she doesn't need a wheelchair and shouldn't be jealous of Ali.

Jenelle: She's due in six weeks and is doing well in her classes, but she's been fighting with Nathan a lot. [what kind of classes is she taking, again?] Nathan has been drinking and suspects Jenelle of talking to someone else. They register for baby items, like a stroller than folds itself up electronically. [I've never heard of such a thing!]

Teen Mom 2 "Cabin Fever" (S05E21): It's early June for Jenelle.
Kailyn: She struggles when Isaac won't behave and is late to pick up Javi at the airport. [but, at least he's back!]

Leah: She needs to find a new place to live, and decides to take Corey to court for more child support. [I wonder if she needs it...]

Chelsea: She goes to her family's cabin with friends when Aubree is with Adam for the weekend. [this is like the first time we've ever heard about a family cabin. I guess they don't use it much?] She's getting laser hair removal on her bikini area.

Jenelle: Her divorce from Courtland has been processed. She now has a panic disorder, not bipolar. [and it seems she was mis-diagnosed previously?]

Teen Mom 2: Feeling Bad

It's sad to see Kailyn having such a difficult time with baby Lincoln, but I'm glad she's going to get some help with his latching. It's also sad to see Adam not caring about a promise he made to his daughter, even if it was only a sports practice. Not much going on with Leah, other than seeing Ali work on maneuvering her wheelchair more, though at least is seems viewers may see the little girl with it out and about soon. And that leaves Jenelle, who is still trying to get free from Courtland and have a baby of her own, which I think many are still wary of watching.

Teen Mom 2 "Family Matters" (S05E19):
Leah is doing better with her medication modification. Ali has a physical therapy appointment, and Corey's dad takes her so Leah can work. [but she's home both before and after Ali goes.] Corey is also starting to understand the benefits of the device, and plans to bring it with them on an upcoming family zoo trip.
mtv.com
Chelsea gets her own workspace and sets her own schedule. Aubree starts playing softball, and Adam is supposed to come watch the first practice, but he is so late he misses the whole thing. [ugh.]

Jenelle has been separated from Courtland for a year now, so she begins divorce proceedings. This will include getting a paternity test to prove the father of her baby is Nathan.

Kailyn facetimes with Javi. Isaac has an art show at school, so Kailyn's mom, Jo, and Vi are all going, and then get to see where Kailyn's living afterward.

Teen Mom 2: Yawn

Very little commentary, because very little happened. The moms talk about things that happened, but this time around, only Leah really shows the audience anything interesting.

Teen Mom 2 "I'll Be Missing You" (S05E18):
Kailyn: Javi leaves for his month of training, leaving Kailyn lonely with the kids. [when did Kailyn get a sleeve done??]
mtv.com
Leah: The insurance company doesn't think Ali's old enough to use the wheelchair, so she, Leah, and Jeremy head to Ohio to film the four-year-old using one. While they wait for insurance approval, they are able to take home a loaner power wheelchair. [so at least we're setting up for some new material.]

Jenelle: Nathan is released from his sentence early, and he's excited to repent his wrongdoings to Jenelle. [and we see Jace work on learning letters.]

Chelsea: She drives four hours to the state cosmetology commission, where she finally gets her esthetician license. Adam is going before a jury over his crimes.

Teen Mom 2: Problems with Pets, Money, and Time

I'm not a pet person, so I can understand how Jenelle gets sick of taking care of dogs that don't obey her. However, I was taken aback when she started yelling at them, dragging them across the floor, and opening their cages in hopes that they'd run away. My eyebrows sank back to their usual position when the PSA ran about getting pet services, though, so I'm glad that the series addressed that! Listening to her drone on about how rough she has it (don't forget, she's not publicly "working") is pretty obnoxious, and I'm scared to see her as a full-time parent when Kaiser is born! It is interesting to watch her interact with Jace, though.
facebook.com/TeenMom2
Teen Mom 2 "Harder Than it Looks" (S05E17): For Kailyn, it's mid-March (her birthday is March 14th), but there aren't other clear markers for when the others are taped.

Jenelle: Nathan is in jail, and Barbara lets Jace spend the weekend with Jenelle. [I wonder what else they did together?] She's struggling to handle school, the dogs, and parenting all at once, especially when she must clean up the pets' messes and build new crates. She yells at the animals, lets them out of their crates, and hopes the "bad one" runs away, then continues complaining about the messes she has to clean.

Leah: Her doctor lowers the dosage on her anxiety medication, and we learn one of the sources of that stress: she's invested a small fortune to become a Mary Kay consultant. [we know it's at least $3,000, but I suspect more like $5,000, given that a basic kit is $1800.] She apparently hasn't been upfront with Jeremy about this, as she has to request a credit extension at the store to afford $3,024.50 for a new washer and dryer. These are apparently for their new two-bedroom apartment, as they're selling their house and moving a lot of stuff to storage. Oh, and now Leah thinks maybe she'll go to cosmetology school someday.

Kailyn: She's turning 22, her friend dyes her hair, and Javi's parents are watching Lincoln for the night. [she got her braces off, too, apparently.] She isn't sure what she wants to do, but after Javi misunderstands that Kailyn needs to feed Lincoln and she winds up an hour late to her own dinner, he joins her and her friends at the club. [apparently Kailyn has NEVER been to a club before?] Also, Javi gets his eyebrows waxed.

Chelsea: Her lawyer has filed a response to the Department of Labor, but she's got bigger concerns... Adam's in trouble. Not only is he facing a possible two years in jail because he racked up five misdemeanor charges in relation to a car accident (reckless driving, revoked license, suspended license, no insurance, unregistered vehicle), but he still might be driving around with Aubree in the car. [he has both a suspended and a revoked license?] Plus, he's moved out of Taylor's and into his own place. [ouch. so how is Aubree going to see Paislee?]

Teen Mom 2: The Kids > The Parents

I don't know about you, but in times like these when the teen mothers aren't doing anything all that interesting (with the possible exception of Chelsea trying to start a new job), it would be nice to see more of the kids. What is school like for Ali? We hear about Jace acting out but maybe we could observe him some more. What is Isaac's education like? I understand that maybe some of the moms are a little more protective than others (which is why we only see Aubree's class on the regular), but if it's not a privacy issue, I think that would be more interesting to viewers than seeing Jenelle cry about Nathan going to jail or Kailyn prepare to solo-parent for a while.
remotecontrol.mtv.com
Teen Mom 2 "When Everything Seems Wrong" (S05E15):
Leah: Ali's in some pain, and the medical insurance company denies their claim for the $20,000 wheelchair. Corey isn't calling constantly, and Leah is experiencing some anxiety and depression over the entire situation. [calling constantly probably wouldn't help anyway.]

Jenelle: She has started school to become a medical assistant. [this is her fourth attempt at higher education, correct?] Nathan will be heading to jail a week sooner than expected, and Jenelle suggests he stop drinking (especially in the middle of the day), because he tends to make poor decisions.

Kailyn: Isaac is turning 4, and is really tired and cranky at his party. [poor kid.] Javi has four weeks of training in Texas coming up.

Chelsea: She can't work at all until she gets her license, and a resolution is taking longer to reach than expected, so she's stressed moving into her new house. Her friend Chelsey is moving in, too. [and those pesky dogs.]

Teen Mom 2 "Overload" (S05E16): Paislee is six months old now.
Leah: She gets on medication for her anxiety, but suffers drowsiness. She really wants to get Ali's wheelchair, and asks Ali's physical therapist what to do. After they find out why the claim was denied, they can challenge each of the reasons. [makes sense.]

Jenelle: She's still going to school, and Nathan heads to court, where he'll be escorted to jail. [seriously, does ANYONE watch this show to see what Jenelle's up to??!?]

Kailyn: She wants to see inside Jo's house to know more about where Isaac goes, and she's able to put the past drama with Vee behind her in the process. [this should be interesting going forward...]

Chelsea: Adam has pictures taken with Taylor, Aubree, and Paislee. Randy gets Chelsea a lawyer to solve her working situation, though all he does at this point is write a letter. [sensible starting place.]

RETURNING: Teen Mom 2: Down Time

The girls are back, despite rumors that the show had been canceled. It's only been about three months since their antics were last depicted on MTV, but that gap doesn't seem to occur in their storylines. However, there also isn't that much to their plots at the moment. Kailyn is adjusting to life with two children and Leah has picked up a job to help with the bills. Things are a little more interesting with Jenelle, who will avoid jailtime for her recent shenanigans, and Chelsea, whose aesthetician license is being withheld because social media depicted her work at a recent wedding. I'm a bit surprised that someone filed a complaint, though as long as no money was exchanged, I imagine that it won't take long for Chelsea to get everything straightened out.
thepub.viacom.com
Teen Mom 2 "Keep it Together" (S05E14): Jenelle is 23 weeks pregnant when she sees her lawyer, but otherwise no major depictions of time.

Chelsea: She gets approved for a loan to buy a house, but when she can't move in right away, she and Aubree stay with her dad or a few weeks. [I thought it was funny her dad seemed impressed Chelsea could afford it on her own.] Her aesthetician license is being withheld because someone filed a complaint that she was paid for services without a license. She meets with a friend and they talk about how they did it but weren't paid, so it should be okay.

Kailyn: She and Javi struggle to balance parenting both kids. [I laughed at how Javi isn't interested in spending time with Lincoln... newborns don't do much.]

Leah: She's working part-time at a tanning salon to help with Ali's medical bills. Jeremy is now working two hours away in Ohio, so he can check-in with the family weekly.

Jenelle: She finds out she's having a boy, and they plan to name him "Kaiser." [Barbara thought that was a beer? like Budweiser?] Her charges get dismissed so they don't have to worry about jailtime for her. Nathan, however, must plead guilty to some misdemeanors in order to get his felony dismissed. This will land him with 30 days in jail. [bleh.]

Summer 2014 TCA: MTV's Virgin Territory

Today's society has a preoccupation with sex. It's no surprise, and is becoming less and less taboo every year. Recently, there has been a focus on the public's interest in virgins specifically, with specials on couples waiting to kiss until marriage, middle-aged virgins, and reality dating shows following those wishing to abstain in an age where many are in bed at the conclusion of the third date. (remember Virgin Diaries on TLC in 2011?) Well, this docuseries will follow 15 young adults from different areas of the country who remain virgins for various reasons.

The young adults featured in the panel were 21-23 years of age, and, in the US, the average person loses their virginity at 17 years old, with 90% of 24-year-olds being sexually experienced. Now, MTV did not go by a set definition of "virgin" in casting this program, so we should see very different experiences depicted, as well as reasons for those circumstances. For instance, Dominique's faith factors into her decision to wait (young motherhood was another factor), and it was practically THE deciding factor for Lisa. On the other hand, Alec hasn't had sex because he hasn't been public with his sexuality, and is anxiously anticipating reaching the milestone.

Though the topic might not be the easiest to watch, MTV maintains its stance that it's important to keep its younger audience informed about sex. After all, according to a January 2014 survey conducted of 18-24-year-olds on behalf of The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy:
  • 86% "wish popular media like movies and TV shows portrayed virginity in a more realistic way"
  • 74% "wish popular media like movies and TV shows did a better job of exploring why people are virgins."
  • Only 69% of say it's socially acceptable for someone their age to be a virgin.
  • Among young adults who have not yet had sex, 37% say they are waiting for marriage, 26% are waiting until they fall in love, and 20% say they haven't because of the risk of pregnancy.

Watch Virgin Territory premiering Wednesday, July 16th, at 11pm ET/PT... just after the new season of Teen Mom 2. MTV is found on DirecTV 331, DISH 160/1333, FiOS 210/710, U-Verse 502/1502, and other carriers.

Special: Being Teen Dads

There are more than three dads from the Teen Mom trilogy that could have been used for this special, so I'm rather intrigued with the choices of Ryan from Teen Mom, and Jo and Corey from Teen Mom 2. Jo and Corey could have been easy selections, based on footage the producers had from recent seasons of Teen Mom 2, but that option wasn't really there with Ryan. Granted, Macy is such a fan-favorite that he's a good choice (especially over the likes of Gary or Adam), but I'm still curious... Gary could have made an interesting selection because of his sole guardianship of his daughter while Amber was in jail...

Teen Mom "Being Teen Dads" (Special):
Jo: He's 22 now, and Vee wants a ring, and seemingly, children. When his friend moves to California, Jo seems sad that he doesn't have the same freedom. [I just kinda shrugged at that.] Jo wants to run a food truck, and Vee wants to run a daycare... specifically in Florida, where she wants to settle down. [um, how does she see marrying Jo and moving to Florida in her future unless Javi gets stationed down there?] When Jo tells Vee he might not want more kids, she gets upset.
facebook.com/teenmom
Corey: Ali is now wearing a "binder" for an hour a day to make it easier for her to move around because it supports her abdominal muscles. [otherwise, there really was no news there.]

Ryan: He met Shelby a year ago and is now working as a lineman for a power company. He and Shelby say they love one another, and plan to move in together, which upsets Bentley because he doesn't want to live in a different house. [awww.] Ryan's dad doesn't think the move is a good idea, either, fearing the couple will break up. [Ryan spying on Bentley at preschool was cute.]

Teen Mom 2: End of the Fifth Season

Some people on the internet are claiming that we're now past the age of Teen Mom 2, and thus beyond the world of Teen Mom, and the first and third versions have already been cancelled. However, although there are "official" claims, I have found no press releases or other statements from MTV or the four girls that suggests that we've seen the last of Jenelle, Chelsea, Kailyn, and Leah. That said, I'm ready for the end to be here. I've long since been over Chelsea and Jenelle, and Kailyn has her life together enough that it's not "reality show interesting" anymore. That leaves Leah, whose life and situation is unenviable and almost more of a "can't stop looking for a trainwreck" than anything else. But, of course, it's still somewhat of a guilty pleasure, so I will probably tune in again if new episodes/specials pop up, but if they don't, I won't be sad.
Teen Mom 2
http://thestir.cafemom.com/entertainment/169727/teen_mom_2_is_cancelled
Teen Mom 2 "That's the Way Love Goes" (S05E13):
Jenelle: Nathan quits his job selling timeshares, leading to a fight about money that gets Jenelle arrested for disturbing the peace. [how loud did she get and for how long??!?] If she is charged with probation violation, it's 13 months in prison, but her lawyers will try to get it dropped. She wants to start going to counseling with Nathan, but he thinks they're bound to break-up, so maybe an abortion is the best situation, even if Jenelle is twelve weeks along already. [she doesn't go with the abortion, but it also doesn't seem like they are in counseling.]

Leah: Ali is starting to go downhill already, and she is diagnosed with Titin gene mutation, which is newly discovered, and affects the heart and lungs in addition to her congenital muscular dystrophy. [that sucks.] There are only about 20 confirmed cases, but Ali may live into her 50s. Unfortunately, there are no other children with it, so they don't know exactly what to expect and plan to have yearly checks with the cardiologist and pulmonary specialist. [Ali's hair was red for a second there, what was that about?!?].

Chelsea: She takes her board exams four hours away, but she thinks she failed. [we don't actually learn of her results for some reason.] Adam gets in a bad car accident, and had no license or insurance, though he walks away with only has a concussion. [how irresponsible!]

Kailyn: Isaac is acting out. Jo's parents are selling their house, and Jo gets a new place and is living with Vee. [too bad Jo's parents are divorcing.] Isaac starts calling Javi "Daddy," and Kailyn worries that Jo will yell at him for doing so.

Teen Mom 2 "Season 5 Unseen Moments" (Special): The group talks about troubles with social media and not being able to stop the filming.

Jenelle
: She finds a nude picture of Nathan on the internet, but he denies that it's him. Turns out, it was Channing Tatum. [I can't believe she got them confused.] She and Nathan embark on an eight-hour roadtrip, only for him to forget to get her a drink. [and they never stopped to get one? sure, I'd probably not want to stop out of spite, but eight hours is FOREVER in a hot car!] Her credit is bad, so she bails on leases every couple of months. [...what?!?]

Leah: We see the twins trying out gymnastics and Leah realizing that Ali wouldn't be able to keep up in tumbling class. Leah spanks as a punishment technique. Corey doesn't like the idea of Leah moving the girls to PA. [I can get behind that.]

Chelsea: She hasn't made new friends in Delaware because she's worried about people's intentions. [that's sad but probably very true.] She and some friends drive down to Omaha for some fun. She didn't want the visitation papers to be on the show, but of course MTV found out.

Kailyn: Jo tells his dad that Kailyn calls him and wants him to stay with her sometimes, etc.

Teen Mom 2 "Season 5 Finale Special: Check Up With Dr. Drew Part 1" (Special):

Leah
: She continues to harp on Jeremy focusing on work over family. She still doesn't have Ali's $20,000 wheelchair, as it's tied up in insurance. She and Corey are co-parenting well. [haha at Leah's face when Jeremy talked about having another chidl!]

Kailyn: She and Javi continue to get physical when fighting. [eep!]

Teen Mom 2 "Season 5 Finale Special: Check Up With Dr. Drew Part 2" (Special): It's super cute that Dr. Drew can interview the kids now! [where's Aleeah? acting out so in time-out?]

Jenelle: Nathan has a daughter from a previous relationship of whom he doesn't have custody because he suffered a brain injury while serving in the military. [interesting.] He also suffers from PTSD. Jenelle still isn't divorced from Courtland, as you have to be separated for a full year in North Carolina. [ooook...] She's in school now, and Barbara is single again.

Chelsea: She slept with Adam while Taylor was pregnant. [whaaat?!?] Chelsea says Adam has been arrested 30 times, but he says it's more like 8 or 10, though he does have three DUIs. [I don't even comprehend how you don't "turn straight" in a situation like that!] He had to do six months in jail, but did have a work-release arrangement. Adam still won't give Chelsea his phone number, but it's partially so he's not tempted to reach out to her. [ummm...] He says that when Aubree is at his parents' house, he's there 60-80% of the time. Adam claims that the show only depicts his lows, and says that Chelsea's dad, Randy, has bothered him on twitter before. [I found it interesting that Adam was clearly trying to make specific points for the audience's sake.]

Teen Mom 2: The Fifth Season Continues...

This series sorta got away from me there! Part of the problem is that I genuinely don't care about any of the mothers or their situations at this point. Another issue is that so little happens per episode because of the focus on four people at a time. Jenelle continues to have legal and relationship troubles, Kailyn gets married and has her second child, Leah deals with the tough life of having a husband who works out of town, and Chelsea continues to be pampered by her parents while she traipses through life. Now that Chelsea has a job, perhaps she'll learn more about life... if her parents decide to actually cut her off! There's a tiny bit left of this season, and no renewal yet, so this may be the last we see of these girls, much like has happened with Teen Mom and Teen Mom 3.

Teen Mom 2 "False Positives" (S05E06):
Jenelle: She gets pregnant right away, but she starts bleeding, so she goes in for an ultrasound. They learn that she's not pregnant after all, but her hormone level was still high because of her recent abortion. Also, Jace locks Barbara out of the house and curses at her. [holy cow that kid will be a handful!]

Leah: Jeremy faints on the job and has to come home early from the project, but at least it's just stress and anxiety, and he can work after a week of rest.

Chelsea: She's worried that Aubree will want to spend more time at Adam's because there's a "family" over there now that there's a new baby. [Chelsea gets on my nerves.]

Kailyn: Jo agrees to let Kailyn and Isaac move to Delaware if he can have 10 overnights each month, as he currently he gets 8. She tries to compromise to 9 because Isaac will be in preschool, but Jo doesn't want to give in. The court decides to make it 9, but Kailyn will have to drive Isaac half-way for hand-offs, and go the entire way for pick-ups. [custody issues are so much work!]

Teen Mom 2 "These are the Days" (S05E07):
Jenelle: She's headed to court for her latest felony charges, but she's more concerned over seeing Courtland while she's with Nathan. [flip flops and heels are the only two types of shoes Jenelle has, apparently. and that red dress fit her funny.]

Leah: Ali is evaluated by a special needs counselor, so Leah tries to get Corey on board with Ali starting preschool ASAP. It doesn't take much, though he still hasn't accepted that she may live an atypical life.

Chelsea: Aubree meets her new half-sister, Paislee. [what's with how people spell names in South Dakota?] But, Aubree stays at Adam's instead of his parents', upsetting Chelsea.

Kailyn: She is struggling to get along with all of her bridesmaids (she has 6!), as Javi's sister and cousin don't seem interested. [haha, remind me to someday tie-in the story of the time my bridesmaids had to go shoe shopping without me...]

Teen Mom 2 "Breakdown" (S05E08):
Jenelle: Barbara is worried that Nathan is controlling Jenelle, who has been doing nothing lately but hanging out at home. [at least she's not getting into trouble?] She has her appendix out in emergency surgery, but Barbara gets upset that Jenelle chooses to have Nathan care for her instead of her family. [yeah, I needed to have surgery about six years ago and chose my husband to care for me over anyone else, which I think hurt my mom's feelings, too.] When Barbara and Jace do come over, it doesn't last long before there's a fight that drives Barbara out again, claiming she'll never return. [ha!]

Leah: Ali starts preschool. [Leah has a fancy camera.] Corey and Miranda plan to wait a few years before having children.

Chelsea: Adam files to have as much custody as the law will allow, but Chelsea doesn't think he deserves it. [she's fortunate that her dad speaks legalese!]

Kailyn: Javi tells her that she needs to become comfortable around his family. She needs to find a doctor who isn't two hours away. She has her wedding dress altered. [ugh. I remember paying a pretty penny for those!]

Teen Mom 2 "Miss You Much" (S05E09):
Jenelle: It's Jace's 4th birthday, but he keeps acting out. [haha! Barbara called the fondant "fondue" !! also, Jace is still in diapers.]

Leah: Jeremy needs to go back to work, and Leah wants to go to counseling to help him see things from her perspective. But, he goes to New Mexico for five weeks for a gig.

Chelsea: Aubree starts ballet and hip-hop. [Chelsea seriously bought the dance outfits on the way to the class?!?]

Kailyn: The wedding is at an aquarium near Philadelphia, but Kailyn is still upset about the bridesmaid drama. She's still not planning to invite her mother, though Jo thought he would get invited. [random!] Javi's sister and cousin confront Kailyn about being open and having a close relationship in the future. [eep!]

facebook.com/TeenMom2
Teen Mom 2 "We Belong Together" (S05E10):
Jenelle: She has her court date, and Courtland shows up. The deal worked out, and she's offered unsupervised probation... but she fails a drug test and has to go to jail for two days. [haha!] Nathan tells Barbara, who thinks Jenelle needs to learn a lesson. [Jace is really becoming a behavior problem!] Jenelle gets upset that Nathan talks to a girl when she's in jail, even though she has guy friends. [I don't think I realized Jenelle had gauges before.]

Leah: She looks through Jeremy's phone and learns he turned down a local job to take the one in New Mexico. He thinks $40,000 in five weeks trumps the location. [I don't have three kids, but in my current situation, you better believe I'd let my husband go off to make that kind of moolah!] Leah tells Corey about Jeremy's decisions, which probably isn't in her best interest, considering past issues.

Chelsea: She finishes her cosmetology program, and her family and friends come for the announcement. [I thought she kinda overplayed it.] Now, she has to look for a job, but has no problem finding one at a spa that provides high-end services, though she's not state-licensed yet.

Kailyn: It's her wedding day, and she can't stop crying. [seriously with those bridesmaids sweatshirts??] We also learn that Javi is a Guatemalan nickname for Jose, and he tears up during the vows.

Teen Mom 2 "Out of the Blue" (S05E11):
Jenelle: She's once again pregnant, confirmed by ultrasound this time. She's still smoking 1-2 cigarettes/day, but she's off "street drugs." [I'm so over Jenelle!]

Leah: Ali practices on her motorized wheelchair. [it sounded like the tech didn't want Ali in one at such a young age.] Jeremy intends to file for divorce. [oh no!]

Chelsea: She has a court date to deal with custody issues, then has issues with Aubree listening and staying in her carseat. [the kid was awful and still got ice cream that day?!? also, Chelsea needs to stop complaining to her dad over every little thing!] Adam wins the ability to see Aubree more, but it has to be at his parents' place, and he can't drive with her in the car.

Kailyn: She and Javi take a day alone together after the wedding, and she admits that she's nervous about having a newborn and a toddler. Later, Javi drops off Isaac without Kailyn, but it works out okay. She finally answers one of her mother's calls, and the woman asks to stay for a while to help out with the new baby. Kailyn gets to decide on how long she can stay, but she's apprehensive about the whole situation. [I would be, too!]

Teen Mom 2 "What You See Is Not What You Get" (S05E12):
Jenelle: She starts taking Jace to karate class. [but it's really tae kwon do?] Barbara doesn't like Nathan and Jenelle not working, but the bigger problem is that Nathan got arrested for a third DUI, which could land him jail time if he's convicted. [is this what those trashy shows like Jersey Shore are like? just the Jenelles and Nathans of the world and their idiotic decisions?] She decides that she won't bail him out in the future.

Leah: Jeremy sees texts from Corey that he doesn't like. The girls try a cheer class, but Aleeah doesn't listen, so maybe something like softball would be better for her. [I don't think I've ever heard of cheerleading for a group so young!]

Chelsea: She starts her new job, but is worried about passing the written part of the state licensing exam. Aubree has a preschool pageant, and Adam brings Paislee. He also  changes his number and won't give it to Chelsea, making her reach him via facebook only. [that does NOT sound like a reliable father to me!]

Kailyn: They paint the baby's room but Javi doesn't know how to do the edges and trim, despite having multiple family members working at Sherwin Williams. [haha.] Kailyn labors for 16 hours to deliver Lincoln Marshall. [Isaac was SO CUTE meeting his brother!] She recovers quickly, but is upset that her mother drunk-texts her all night. [crazy woman!]

Teen Mom 2: Going Against the Grain

I didn't do a lot of Mom-and-Me time growing up, but a three-year-old getting a mani-pedi would definitely not have been something I did, and I find it incredibly odd that Leah took Aleeah for one. She's not rolling in money, and I'm not sure how "quality" the time they're spending together is, as the little girl seemed so distracted by everything going on. Of course, I also don't really think there was a need to spend extra time with Aleeah because of Ali's doctor's appointment, but I don't have preschoolers, so what do I know? Elsewhere, Kailyn, Chelsea, and Jenelle all continue to do what they want to do, even if it will potentially cause problems later (moving without the court's approval could mean moving back again, skipping school can't be good when you're not a great student anyway, and deciding to conceive shortly after having an abortion has got to be the most nonsensical idea I've heard in a while!). But, at least the kids are cute!
remotecontrol.mtv.com
Teen Mom 2 "You Got Me" (S05E05): It's likely still summer for Leah, as November is in the future and there's talks of the girls starting preschool. It's a week later for Chelsea than last episode. no big time-markers for the other girls.

Kailyn: Their offer on the house is accepted, though the move has not been approved by the courts yet. [pumpkin wedding cake. as happy as I would be, that's not a people-pleaser flavor, so I wouldn't go mainstream wedding cake with it.] They go ahead with the move two hours away, though. [cool Toy Story playthings! but is Kailyn not concerned that Isaac will spill the beans to Jo? I mean, he'll probably mention having a new room!]

Leah: Her friend, Kayla, got married out of the blue and moves to Las Vegas, where her new husband is stationed. Jeremy is away working, but has been getting bad headaches and has been dizzy. As Leah continues to look at a place where they could have horses, she decides that they'll live in a double-wide trailer until they can sell their current home and buy a pre-fab house. [more commonly done on television than in real life, I think. LoL.] Corey and his dad talk about not wanting Ali to use a wheelchair until she absolutely needs it, though it's going to arrive in November.

Jenelle
: She takes Jace for a swim lesson, then asks Barbara if he can come to Nathan's football game. But, Jace has been sick, so Barbara says no. [and, of course, Jenelle doesn't take that seriously.] Then, Nathan and Jenelle decide to go off birth control to try to have a baby. [o.m.g.] They tell Barbara the next day, and she doesn't freak out at them. [I freaked out more than Barbara did! and I laughed hardcore at Nathan's "I'm gonna be with Jenelle for the rest of my life."] Jenelle then tells one of her friends, who asks some serious questions... like, what if Jenelle is sentenced to jail time when her trial comes up? [I can't even wrap my mind around that possibility!]

Chelsea: Her birthday (and Aubree's first day of preschool) was a week ago, but Chelsea wants to go to Los Angeles with a friend to celebrate. [what is depressing about turning 22??] They skip school, leave the kids behind, and go rollerblading near the beach in California. [Chelsea had never tried rollerblading previously - look at all the fun things you miss out on when you have a baby in high school!] They have drinks, but that's about all the audience sees them do on the trip. [seriously... what else did they do?? they sure packed a ton!!]

Teen Mom 2: Growing Up, Making Changes, and Moving

So, if I had to order the girls at this point by whom I'm most interested in continuing to hear about, it would go Leah, Kailyn, Chelsea, Jenelle. The complications of a special needs child are interesting and something that isn't over-covered on television. Having two children by two different fathers and potentially living with neither of them is pretty unique as well. Continuing to flail about as you fail to make a career for yourself is ridiculous and unamusing, as is not caring about seeing your child regularly. It's no secret that I've long lost any interest in Jenelle, and, similarly, Leah has long been my favorite of this bunch, but at some point MTV might as well back off and just let these girls live their lives...

Teen Mom 2 "Love Will Never Do Without You" (S05E02): It's June for Jenelle, but otherwise no obvious time-markers for the girls.

Kailyn: After an hour in court, the case over whether Kailyn can move to Delaware gets moved because of a jurisdiction mix-up. [how did that happen?]

Jenelle: She'll be dealing with her felony heroin charges in a few months, which could mean 8-21 months in prison. [that's a LONG time!] Jenelle has been talking to Nathan, whom she met on a dating app, for six weeks, and decides to meet him for mini-golf. He's an underwear model who goes to college and plays football. [yeah, I agree, sounds too good to be true.] She says that running off the New Jersey is the most bizarre thing she's ever done.
http://remotecontrol.mtv.com/2014/01/24/teen-mom-2-sneak-peek-jenelle-nathan/
Chelsea: Her friend, Meagan, spends the night so they can head off to school on time. [shaving a guest the night before the first day certainly doesn't sound like the best way to get a good night's sleep!] But, Aubree is really tired in the morning and slows them down. They have a good first day, and with only a four-month program, it may go by fast.

Leah: They head to the Orlando area for a family vacation, staying at Villas at Fortune Place. Jeremy has been off work since Adalynn was born, so they make the most of the time they have together, going to the pool and Fun Spot. [the twins stuffing their bikini tops with tissues was disturbing. and look at Leah teaching Ali not to hold on during the roller coaster ride!] Leah wants Jeremy to do something different from working on pipelines so he can be home more, but he is good at what he does.

Teen Mom 2 "Keep Your Head Up" (S05E03): It's likely August for Chelsea, as Aubree is starting preschool. Otherwise, no great time-markers.

Kailyn: She's putting on extra weight for being 23 weeks along. Jo isn't at his parents' for drop-off, so Kailyn keeps Isaac with her when she goes to dinner. [that little boy looks SO MUCH like Jo!] Then, Jo gets upset that Kailyn keeps Isaac longer, and both parents see this as material for their lawyers. [eye roll!]

Jenelle: She continues to see Nathan, who impresses Barbara. [I roll my eyes a lot at Nathan.] Nathan soon asks Jenelle to move in, even though he lives an hour away from Barbara and Jace. [and, of course, that's not an issue for Jenelle.]

Chelsea: Adam accompanies her to a meeting about preschool, which Aubree is starting now that she's almost four years old.

Leah: Leah takes Ali to a doctor's appointment three hours away, where they learn that Ullrich muscular dystrophy means Ali will get weaker. [awww.] She will need a power wheelchair to go to school, so she is fitted for one, even though COrey is in denial. Because her condition is so rare, Ali's parents are encouraged to let the researchers take blood and skin samples, but Leah and Corey don't jump on that.

Teen Mom 2 "Working Overtime" (S05E04): It's late August for Chelsea, as her birthday is August 29th (and Aubree's is September 7th), but otherwise not time-markers.

Kailyn: She and Javi look at houses and he finds one that would be a good fit for them, but Kailyn's move still hasn't been approved. They decide to move forward, and their offer is accepted. [well, this is going to get more complicated!]

Jenelle: She decides to move in with Nathan in Myrtle Beach, and Barbara will let her have Jace for weekend overnights.

Chelsea: It's her 22nd birthday, she lets Adam's parents take Aubree overnight, and she uses her mom as a guinea pig for a makeup test. [I didn't like the finished look.] Adam's second child is due to be born any day, though he is being a caring parent and goes to see Aubree on her first day of preschool.

Leah: Jeremy takes a month-long job eight hours away, while Leah decides to sell the house (they have a spiral staircase) and buy something in the country so they can have horses (to help with Ali's physical therapy). [the girls have an indoor trampoline at Corey's?] It will be 40 minutes away from her parents, though, which could be problematic. Leah wants to get Ali in school ASAP, tho it may be a year before Aleeah starts, but Corey still thinks that Ali will be fine.

RETURNING: Teen Mom 2: More and More Drama

The girls are back!
facebook.com/TeenMom2
Some time has passed since we last caught up with them, and each young lady now has new problems to address, some with help and others without. Money continues to be an issue for Kailyn and Jenelle, but at least addiction seems to be absent for now. Boy troubles, whether with current lovers or past, aren't at the forefront, either, which could be good. However, Jenelle is still getting nowhere in life, Kailyn is about to be a solo parent of two if she can't get approved to move to Delaware, Chelsea is still without a career, and Leah has three daughters to raise. The teasers suggest that a lot of drama is in store for each of these mothers this season, and we'll be here to recap what happens and weight in with our thoughts...

Teen Mom 2 "Revelations" (S05E01):
Jenelle: She's off heroin and is living with her mother again, though is mad at herself for marrying Courtland and then getting pregnant. [the marraige was not depicted last season.] She decides to take an abortion pill, which her mother drives her a few hours to get, and also pays for. Jace keeps saying the "f word," so Jenelle threatens to put soap in his mouth. [though it is sad, is anyone surprised?]

Leah: Ali has a rare form of muscular dystrophy, and although she's currently walking, her condition will likely get worse. Aleeah is being calls Grace now, which is her middle name. Leah got her braces off and gave birth to Adalynn Faith. Corey married a girl named Miranda, while Leah and Jeremy celebrate their second anniversary. [already?? yeah, the timeline is a little crazy...]

Kailyn: Javi is stationed in Delaware, and because Kailyn is four months pregnant (and now has braces), she files a petition to move Isaac out-of-state to keep her family together. Jo is planning to fight it, so Kailyn may have to return to work (as a dental assistant) immediately to afford a second rent. [what a pain!] They're finally planning their wedding reception, which is coming up soon. [that's an elaborate baby shower, and I hated the flowers in her hair!]

Chelsea: She quit beauty school (again), and decides to start an esthetics program instead. Still, she's doing much better than Adam, who has received a third DUI and got Taylor pregnant. [he's also got some serious ink now!] He wants Aubree more often so she can see her new half-sister more, but Chelsea is concerned. [as she probably should be.]

Teen Mom 2: Lows for Jenelle, Kailyn, and Chelsea; Leah's Happy

Dr. Drew talked about the girls suffering from various issues, but when you look at the list, some of the girls are dealing with much more than others. Take a look:

Issue \ Teen Mom Jenelle Kailyn Leah Chelsea
Poverty definitely overcoming overcoming no
Addiction definitely (drugs) no no sometimes (Adam)
Family Breakdown ongoing overcoming in the past no
Absentee Father yes no no sometimes
Revolving Boyfriend definitely in the past in the past Adam in and out

Here, you can see that Jenelle is still dealing with most of these concerns while the other girls (especially Kailyn and Leah) are getting past them and maturing. That said, I still literally said "shut up" to Kailyn during her segment. Of course, when Dr. Drew asks questions like, "any feelings about that?" some of his interviewees are bound to flip on him, so not all of the blame is hers. And, though MTV has not yet given official word that this series is no more, I'm willing to bet that we're done with the regular installments from these girls. And, that's probably a good thing. As cute as Aubree and Jace are together, these ladies having to continually block tweets to have typical social media experiences has gone on long enough. I bet the money is good and all, but I'm sure they would prefer some privacy after 3-4 years in the spotlight.

facebook.com/TeenMom2
Teen Mom 2 "Check Up with Dr. Drew Part 1" (Special):
Jenelle: She wishes that she had never gone back to Kieffer, as her most recent relationship with him has been the lowest point of her life. Kieffer wanted her to try harder drugs, so she let him inject her... but her body couldn't handle it and she was often sick, even winding up in the hospital multiple times over the course of a month. [holy cow! glad we didn't see all of this! certainly explains some of her behavior, though!] We learn that Gary got kicked out of the Marines for his behavior, which Barbara suspected for some time. [seriously? she seemed so approving of him!] Barbara still allows Jenelle to have Jace Thursday-Sunday, 9am-8pm, but Jenelle thinks it's rude that she has to work around Barbara's schedule. [hahahahaha!]

Kailyn
: Jo hasn't paid child support in two months. [and this isn't addressed WHY??] Dr. Drew brings up custody issues, and Kailyn talks about how she'll be taking Isaac if she moves. Everyone knows that Kailyn is being illogical about it, but she's more worried about actually having to meet Vee. Her main concern? Vee smoked weed through a gas mask, so Kailyn doesn't want Vee to be around Isaac. [legitimate! I was also surprised to learn that Kailyn smoked weed before she found out she was pregnant, though perhaps I shouldn't have been.] Vee introduces herself as a full-time daycare worker who is going to school to become a teacher, and Dr. Drew tries to get Kailyn to see Vee as more than a single image online, but Kailyn just storms off instead. [hahaha. wonder if she "boxed it out" off stage!]

Teen Mom 2 "Check Up with Dr. Drew Part 2" (Special):
Leah: She and Jeremy are expecting once again, and Leah plans to be a SAHM until the children are in school, when she will continue her college education. [in reality, she's already given birth to little Addalynn.] Corey talks about the shock of increased child support, and also how he thinks that Jeremy is good for his ex and children. [I thought Leah was forcing the topic about how she's doing much better now than she was before.]

Chelsea: Dr. Drew asks her about her unsafe sex, and Chelsea gives the typical line "I just assumed I wasn't pregnant." [ha!] She and Adam have still been hooking up, as Adam and Taylor are fighting. [SERIOUSLY?? get her back in therapy!]

Teen Mom 2: Kailyn Marries, Kieffer Presses Charges, Ali's Tests

We had the final episode of the season, and the first of three known wrap-up episodes. First, the exciting news: Kailyn and Javier got married shortly before he shipped off for boot camp a week before Christmas.
MTV
And, actually, that's pretty much all that happens with them, aside from the fact that they are trying to add more Spanish words to Isaac's vocabulary. Chelsea also had minimal news - she's back in school, though still runs late when Aubree locks her out of her bedroom. Leah and Jenelle, on the other hand, were busting with news. Well, in a way. Ali had tests done, and it does seem that she has a neuro-muscular disorder, though we're not privy to which or how she will be treated. Oh, and the girls compete in a pageant. Jenelle's story is more about Barbara and Kieffer... Barbara tries to get Jenelle committed when Jenelle is back on drugs, and Kieffer presses trespassing charges on Barbara for coming into their home in the first place. It keeps them as the most annoying family on this series, and probably one of the most annoying in their region, as it seems the police and the courthouse folks all know who Barbara is, and that Jenelle is her daughter.

Teen Mom 2 "The End of the Road" (S04E12):
Jenelle: Barbara and her boyfriend go over to Jenelle's and find her and Kieffer hopped up on drugs. Barbara goes to the magistrate and tries to have Jenelle committed to a psychiatric hospital for being a danger to herself and others, but Jenelle is released after a few hours. [I totally didn't know that you could send the cops after someone, though!] Jenelle and Kieffer feel like trespassing and physical assault are a big deal, so Kieffer presses charges. Kieffer then gets upset when he can't find his Xanax. [haha! though I was worried for a second that they were going to get violent!]

Leah: Jeremy goes with the family for Ali's medical appointments in Ohio. Corey's stepmother watches Aleeah while they're gone. It seems that there are issues on the neuro-muscular level, and a biopsy is required.

Kailyn: She makes an appointment to get married before Javi leaves for basic training, and his mother attends the courthouse for the event. Then, Kailyn tells Jo about her marriage. Javi leaves a week before Christmas for Texas, and he cries the night before he leaves as well as during their final moments together. [Isaac really looks like Jo!]

Chelsea: She returns to school but is a day late because she overslept. [why did she even bother telling her father?] The next day, Aubree locks herself in Chelsea's room as Chelsea's getting ready, and it takes her so long to get back in that she is late. [her trainwrecks are so hilarious!]

Teen Mom 2 "Unseen Moments" (Special):
Jenelle: We see Jenelle and Gary get into an argument, and Jenelle is physical yet again. Then, we see part of Jenelle's court hearing over the online harassment of her friend. [I had forgotten about that charge!]

Leah: Ali is getting closer to walking, and the girls are in a beauty pageant. Aleeah wins prettiest eyes and Ali wins prettiest smile. [I'm purposefully not commenting on this one.]

Kailyn: She and Javi are teaching Isaac Spanish with some flashcards. [semi-interesting.] Kailyn's friend, Mark, moves to Georgia. Jo and Vee have been together a year now, but he doesn't want more kids and she eventually wants a baby. [dang, that flew by!]

Chelsea: She takes Aubree and some friends to a zoo. Adam wants to see more of Aubree, but he gets a DUI. [haha. this whole YOLO movement is screwing up people.]

Teen Mom 2: Ali's Appointment, Aubree's Birthday, Kailyn's Therapy

Leah's fear of learning how severe Ali's delays might be struck me as odd. For over two years she's been wondering why Ali hasn't been developing as expected! Of course, I'd probably rather have an unexpected event like Leah's than a completely sad but expected turn of events like with Jenelle. That girl just cannot get her act together, and it's only going to get more and more difficult. Similarly, Kailyn isn't striking me as more and more independent and mature lately, but maybe I was expecting too much. And then there's Chelsea... from whom I expect nothing anymore. I was surprised that she didn't cry over Adam this episode, though! Baby steps.

Teen Mom 2 "Hard Knocks" (S04E11):
Leah: It's time for Ali to see a neuro-muscular specialist in Columbus, Ohio, which is four hours away. She asks Jeremy to come, but he has to work. Fortunately, her mother and Corey are able to go, and at the appointment they learn that Ali has very low muscle tone and no reflexes. [wow, I don't think I've ever heard of someone lacking reflexes!] Ali is taking a few steps here and there, but she isn't really trying. The doctor recommends an EMG Nerve Conduction and a muscle biopsy, so those are scheduled for mid-December.

Jenelle: She goes to court over her charges with Gary, but if she has to take a drug test, she could go to jail. [as always.] Fortunately, all the charges against her are dropped. But, she gets an eviction notice and a small claims notice over one month of missed rent. [it makes me laugh SO HARD that she finds that to be ridiculous!] Plus, Jenelle is suffering from depression again, she and Kieffer "party a lot," and she's been using "uppers" when she gets cranky. Regardless, Jenelle wants custody of Jace, claiming that Barbara is nothing because she's just a deli worker at WalMart. [which is still better than being unemployed. at least to some people.]

Kailyn
: She and Jo go to family therapy, where Kailyn talks about not wanting Jo's girlfriend around Isaac. Afterwards, she tells him about her marriage and moving plans, and he says that it's dumb, as she hasn't even been with him for a year yet. [I can definitely agree with Jo on this one!] He then says that there will be a custody battle if she wants to move. [duh!] Javi doesn't believe that he'd never need therapy, so he struggles when Kailyn asks him to walk away before she gets angry at him. [while that was a strange moment, that was a cool crayon craft!]

Chelsea: Chelsea has a week left on her leave, but she colors her friend's hair at home. For Aubree's third birthday (she turned three last September 7th), Chelsea's party for her includes a blow-up princess castle, while Adam's is a pool party at a hotel. [that mini bike is a bit much for a three-year-old, no?]
